aerius Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 Right, so for years now I've noticed that my listening experience is better when I'm not sober. Generally I go with spirits, either brandy or whisky, I'm not a fan of vodka and I haven't tried rum yet. Beer makes me a bit too sleepy and makes me wanna go pee, which messes up the flow of my listening. So what do you drink to make your listening sessions better?
ojnihs Posted December 24, 2006 Report Posted December 24, 2006 I like to enjoy a nice cold bottle of brew usually when I'm listening, although I found that coffee or hot chocolate is great as well.
PinkFloyd Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 At the moment it's rum and cranberry juice with a twist of lime. Was off the booze for a good while but am back on it for a few months, yes, music does sound better when you're smashed. Shags everything else up though and the hangovers, forum bans, and general feeling of "shit" may not be worth the musical gains long term Time to get back onto the water I think.
JBLoudG20 Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 Hey, everything is fine in moderation.
postjack Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I love some fresh brewed coffee ground from fresh beans. I have a great little grinder I bought for 20 bucks, and I received a battery powered vacuum sealed coffee bean holder for Christmas, which keeps my beans fresh. I usually drink it black, but sometimes add just a touch of skim milk. This week I bought soy milk to see how I liked it in my coffee, and honestly I don't like it that much. Back to the skim next week.
ojnihs Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 I also like coffee with my music. FYI, soy isn't as healthy for you as they say it is, so there's another reason to stick with the cow milk (of course one without growth hormone).
saint.panda Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 Scotch (Lagavulin in particular, Macallan on smoother days) or wine. Beer and spirits make me want to drop the headphones and actually go out or turn on the TV. First post, yay.
aerius Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 Water for me. Yeah, we al know what happens when you get loaded with booze.
ojnihs Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 I was having a Guinness the other night while listening to some tunes and boy...was it great.
Augsburger Posted April 14, 2007 Report Posted April 14, 2007 With my "good system" a seven or eight year old Pinot, Adrian Fog, William Selyem or Sea Smoke. With my cheap system Cordon Bleau Cognac. Who needs a Rega Saturn or a EC Hyper Dac when you have your second Cognac, all the music sounds real good.
Chekhonte Posted June 14, 2007 Report Posted June 14, 2007 I prefer fresh carrot, beat, ginger and apple juice when I listen to music. Getting a juicer a few years ago was oneof my best purchases. I highly recommend it.
riceboy Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 I go for a Whiskey, mostly single malt. I have the 12 & 18 yo McCallan, Glenlivet 12 yo, had Oban, and I really like the Johnnie Walker 15 yo Green label but that ones blended. I also like the Balvenie Single Malt Scotch 12 yo. Has anyone tried the Suntory Whiskey? I've been curious about this one for a while.
909 Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 whatever it is, it's not legal. well at least not in the US.
grawk Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 whisky, not whiskey. and none of the Suntory's i've had have been great, but i haven't had all of them. "Good Times? Suntory Times!"
riceboy Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 sure, they might be good times, but i don't think that, based on the Yamazaki 12 and 18 yo, they are tasty times That's interesting. I guess it's not tasty times for the Suntory . I'm always on the lookout for it at a Sushi bar that may have it so I could just order it and give it a try.

We'll whip some out if we can ever get together for a meet at my place!
Wolfbait Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Oh, it's from lost in translation, an ad bill murray had to read 3000 times. Hey grawk, sorry to correct...while yamazaki is very good, it is "hibiki" that Bill Murray was advertising in the movie.
grawk Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Hey grawk, sorry to correct...while yamazaki is very good, it is "hibiki" that Bill Murray was advertising in the movie. Hey fuckbag, did I say it was yamazaki?
Wolfbait Posted August 23, 2007 Report Posted August 23, 2007 Hey fuckbag, did I say it was yamazaki? Nice to meet your acquaintance...please and thank you. Upon further review I see that you did not specifically attach the yamazaki to L.I.T....you just inferred it I suppose. Thank you, can I have another?
