TheSloth Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 I'll ask you again. You wanna bet? I'll take that bet. There are forums here that you have not had, and do not have sufficient privileges to view, yet.
PinkFloyd Posted December 26, 2006 Report Posted December 26, 2006 I'll take that bet. There are forums here that you have not had, and do not have sufficient privileges to view, yet. Maybe not but I'm perfectly aware of the undercurrents

JBLoudG20 Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 LOL thanks Pinkie!!! I built a few PPAS's. They sound pretty damn good to my ears...
Ben Gramain Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Quite apart from the fact that everything about that picture makes me laugh aloud, how do you know it's crap if you haven't tried it?
kramer5150 Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 the amp chip in the ipod and in the tomahawk are in fact one in the same. So... The tomahawk essentially amps the ipod line output with the same OP amp. Is there anything fundamentally wrong with that principle? Or is it more the fact that the guy is charging $250 for it? My dac uses an OPA2134 at the output stage. If I amp that with a 2134 Cmoy.... isn't that kind of the same thing? Garrett
kevin gilmore Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Nothing wrong with that. Nothing right with that either. Two boxes instead of one. Two sets of batteries instead of one. Two volume controls instead of one. Twice the physical size for absolutely no apparent gain. Have a happy new year.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 But...but...but...they're in series! That makes it twice as good, right?
PinkFloyd Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 But...but...but...they're in series! That makes it twice as good, right? Twice as expensive, certainly. Nothing wrong with that as KG says. You've got choice.
