ironbut Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 I'd be interested in 2 ea of the 5 pin connectors if possible.
PICaudio Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 No problem. I add the connectors on the Google spreadsheet. Today I called my friend to see if he had made connectors and told me last week he bought a 25mm plate because he need it for another job, he told me he will keep the price of 17 € per connector (because if he uses a thicker plate, the CNC need more time to do the connectors). My friend think that he will receive the plate tomorrow. He will do the connectors next week and he has confirmed to me that he could do about 120 connectors. -- o -- Rodrigo
luvdunhill Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 What's the general consensus regarding the suitability of a screw terminal connector for this jack? My sensibilities and the data sheet make me think it's a bad idea, but who knows...
ujamerstand Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 For the adapter pcb? I couldn't find anything else suitable with high enough voltage ratings. The phoenix screw terminal connector is used on the amp, so I just continue to use them. I really much rather to use something else that will latch on securely though. Do you have something in mind?

cobra_kai Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 WAGO makes some neat connectors. I have never worried about their voltage ratings before though so I'm not sure they would be suitable for this application.
ironbut Posted October 24, 2011 Report Posted October 24, 2011 Yes, I've used WAGO connectors on a few projects and they're solid as a rock (the board/push to open type). For folks here in the US, you can get them at Newark (IIRC).
JensH Posted October 25, 2011 Report Posted October 25, 2011 I'd be interested in 1 of the 5 pin connectors including pins if possible.
ujamerstand Posted October 26, 2011 Report Posted October 26, 2011 I've sorted everything out with the machine shop. Still not billed yet, but I've gotten an exact amount from the manager. The total comes to $1259.59 after tax, So that's $37 per part. PMs coming to everyone on my list.

ironbut Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Wow, that's 62 of just the 5 pin! Of course, I'm sure that most folks bought extra and some might be just replacing connectors on existing amps, but still,.. I'm expecting to see a shit load of DIY electrostatic amps on the horizon.
cetoole Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Wait, people actually build stuff? I thought this hobby was about collecting parts for the sake of the parts?
ujamerstand Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Eh, you mean it's not about collecting parts?
wink Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) All DIY is just collected parts held together by various means. (This includes wishful thinking). Surprisingly, some of the parts held together function more than the sum of their parts. Edited October 27, 2011 by wink
Emooze Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Is it too late to put in for one 5-pin and one 6-pin?
ujamerstand Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Those of you who paid already have a package coming your way.
deepak Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Wait, people actually build stuff? I thought this hobby was about collecting parts for the sake of the parts? Gently strokes stash of TDA1541 single crowns. j/k I only hoard double crowns
jazzbass Posted October 27, 2011 Report Posted October 27, 2011 Added myself to list for 2 5-pins. Hope its not too late.
ujamerstand Posted October 28, 2011 Report Posted October 28, 2011 I should mention this, all the bubble wrap I used for shipping came from blessingx. His liberal use of bubble wraps last time he shipped me stuff means that I won't have to buy bubble wraps for a long time. Thanks Ric!

Added myself to list for 2 5-pins. Hope its not too late. No, problem. Tomorrow is a holiday in Spain and I think my friend start to do the connectors next Wednesday or Thursday. -- o -- Rodrigo
Driftwood Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 I'll take 4 if they are still available. I've added myself to the spreadsheet.
Flyingsparks Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 I have just increased my order 4 ea. if that is still ok (Spreadsheet updated). Also, who is it best to get pins from? Deadlylover, would it be you, as I am just across the ditch in New Zealand? Cheers

Deadlylover, would it be you, as I am just across the ditch in New Zealand? Cheers Yeah I'd be happy to send some pins over if you don't want to buy the 100-pack. I'll be at 210/300 pins spoken for now with yourself included.
K3cT Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Argh, noticed this late. Is it still possible to order 2 of the 5-pins connectors?
