bozebuttons Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 Ward must feel like Bill Buckner of the redsox against the Mets. The Caps are looking good, the Rangers need to put more Goals in net.I see a Game 7 also. Quote
aardvark baguette Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 All I can say is Holtby is our guy now. Quote
grawk Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Posted May 13, 2012 That was a hell of a series. Painful in the end, but I'll pull for the red white and blue in the east and the yotes in the west. I'll have to pull for the yotes for the cup tho, that's a team that deserves it. Quote
The Monkey Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 ugh, fell alseep, which ultimately proved to be good luck for the Rangers. Quote
bozebuttons Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 Another nail biter of a game Great series. The Caps played great . The Rangers played like they have done all year. Quote
grawk Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 I assume it was mutual. He can go back to making MUCH more money owning the london knights, and the caps can find a coach that knows how to coach a defensive team that also doesn't have to bench ovechkin. I predict that might involve a new GM, too. I like the Hartley rumors. Quote
skullguise Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Good luck to Hunter. Despised him as a player, respected him for what he did with the Caps. I almost think they needed a kind of hard transition from what Boudreau was doing, just to shake things up a bit. I think Hunter brought in the hard work ethic, and they can now adapt a little more and find the best balance. With that next step in coaching, Holtby and some good goaltending coaching, they should be pretty amazing for the next few years..... Quote
bozebuttons Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Game 1 into overtime watching it now. Quote
blubliss Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Wooohooooo Kiiiiiiiings!!! (from the land with no ice, ha!) Quote
skullguise Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Great win by the Kings. Big congrats to the team and a bunch of great fans (from other boards, and personal accounts of visiting Boston fans). Couple real funny things for me as a Bruins fan: 1) Those ex-Flyers get the cup, and more funny: 2) Mike O'Connell gets to hold the cup before Joe Thornton [Mike was the GM who traded Thornton away] I think the saddest part though was that the TV ratings for this final series were so low....the NHL is SO high on marketing people like Crosby and Ovechkin, or maybe New York for viewership, that they let a great opportunity slide away. Two great American captains in the final, an American goalie winning the Cup and Conn-Smythe.....they had an excellent opportunity to market this to America but failed. Oh, well.....now on to the awards show and the draft..... 1 Quote
deepak Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 I was secretly pulling for Jersey, it's just awesome to see a goalie you grew up watching still playing like a boss. Quote
grawk Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 I'm so glad NJ lost. The old marty woulda won that Quote
Augsburger Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Wooohooo Kings! Time to riot....... sorry never mind wrong sport. Quote
grawk Posted June 12, 2012 Author Report Posted June 12, 2012 not the wrong sport, just not in canada... :b I'm glad they won, tho I was wanting them to win it in 4 so they could get the record. Hopefully teams can go back to playing offensive hockey again. Quote
Augsburger Posted June 13, 2012 Report Posted June 13, 2012 Yep would be a nice change for some teams. Quote
aardvark baguette Posted June 27, 2012 Report Posted June 27, 2012 Adam Oates is the new Washington Capitals coach. http://capitals.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=636124&navid=DL|WSH|home Quote
