Wmcmanus Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Wow, so sad. Not much of a retirement. Enjoy it while you've still got it, my friends....
Cankin Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 RIP Mr Jobs I agree that his best invention is Apple itself
GPH Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 RIP Steve. He looked sick, but I never thought it would happen so fast. The guy's life should be a model for all future entrepreneurs.
RudeWolf Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 I think that without Steve Jobs we would not have the popular interest in portable audio and headphones that we have today. Every death is a loss. RIP.
mikeymad Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Wow... I was sure he would be around longer.. bummer to his friends and family
HeadphoneAddict Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 DAMMIT! R.I.P Steve. ...more articles I read before coming here http://gizmodo.com/5838847/steve-jobs-is-dead http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/05/steve-jobs-dead_n_997223.html http://www.gazette.com/articles/died-126252-gazette-jobs.html
Dreadhead Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 RIP Steve Not a fan but he was a brilliant guy there is no doubt.
manaox2 Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 I didn't see it coming so very soon. He was such a huge figurehead, the image I have of the whole tech world feels a little dimmer knowing he is gone. Tim is a great and I mean that honestly, but no one I can think of holds a true candle to the influence that Steve has had on the tech push of the last two decades in my mind.
tyrion Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Very sad news. I can only think of two other times in my life when someone I never knew died which saddened me like this: John Lennon and Jerry Garcia.
raffy Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 RIP Steve. May his spirit continue to live through Apple
Knuckledragger Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 I was gonna post this in Slow Forum, but it might as well go here:
The Monkey Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Can anyone think of another businessperson whose death has been as significant? I cannot.
VPI Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 I was lucky enough to have spent time with Steve on two occasions. While I have sat down with numerous world leaders, business icons and celebrities, Mr. Jobs has always stood out as my favorite celebrity meeting.

Tyll Hertsens Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) I'm almost done with a contrary point of view article to Guttenbergs recent slamming of the stock iPod ear-bud. I got curious, so did a bunch of measurements of a variety of current ear-buds. The stock iPod ear-bud easily bested every other bud but the best Sennheiser. They're ear-buds, so thay still basically sound pretty bad, but they were a very. good. ear-bud. I had two samples from recent purchases, and they measured virtually identical. I've talked to one of their lead engineers before, and was impressed by what they were doing. Those guys were passionate, and spending MO-NAY making the very best throw-away headphone in the world. That doesn't happen when visionless MBAs run a company. Great job, Steve! Rest in Peace. Edited October 6, 2011 by Tyll Hertsens
shellylh Posted October 6, 2011 Report Posted October 6, 2011 Tyll, were Yuin Pk#'s included in the anti-slam? Just curious.
