granodemostasa Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 seems a little strange to me... 1) why in the world was the B52 picked! a person can put together at least 5 just as good whole rigs for that price. 2) um... how can a person raffle off something they dont' own? 3) at it's root, ticket holders are subsidizing the purchase of an amplifier for someone else, with little potential profit going to the charity. 4) Ray is getting to sell a 5K amp at full price, making more profit than any other party in this deal.
tkam Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 1) Simple just look at all that guys posts recently he couldn't be a bigger RSA shill if he tried. 2) No idea but it's great free marketing for Ray 3) Yep, welcome to the amazing stupidity of head-fiers 4) Like he wasn't already making enough profit on them
justin Posted December 16, 2006 Report Posted December 16, 2006 I'm going to be raffling off a Porsche 911
n_maher Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 It strikes me as the worst "charity raffle" in history. If he manages to raise $6000, which I'm not sure has ever been accomplished on Head-Fi, $0 will go to the charity. That's awesomely bad.
n_maher Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Yoink! Both threads concerning this are now gone.
KenW Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Crap. Just got back in from the mall and missed everything. Anyone snag a pic of the post/thread? Who started it? Anyone care to fill me in?

hungrych Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I like how giving money to head-fi somehow is the same as giving money to charity, because lining the pockets of Jude is the same as helping people in need.
