agile_one Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Well done, boys .... love the HC concert connection. Colin ... you got an extra for me, right?
cetoole Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Happy to if you are coming out this direction, Gene.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 Shape of Despair, Alone in the Mist -- Bandcamp streaming and purchase link I thought their last album -- Monotony Fields -- was a nice return to form, back to the Shades of... and Angels of Distress era, but this might be even better. Doom. Just funereally paced, cavernous reverb-washed doom, where it takes them 5 minutes to sing one 4-line verse. EDIT: It's a remaster of their 1998 demo, that might explain why it literally harkens back to their early days. 1
acidbasement Posted March 22, 2017 Report Posted March 22, 2017 You guys. I haven't bought an album in the middle of listening to it for the first time in ages. Check this out. They're from Quebec. 1
acidbasement Posted October 21, 2017 Report Posted October 21, 2017 The new album by Samael is really amazing.
acidbasement Posted December 20, 2017 Report Posted December 20, 2017 I've recently discovered a couple of good ones in a genre that I didn't know existed: Myrkur - if Loreena McKennitt played black metal, it would sound like this. Summoning - ambient black-folk metal. Damn, so good. 1

After listening to your birthday list, I think you might like. 1

Dusty Chalk Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 Summoning, Myrkur -- yeah, these are 6oth aweʃome. Will give Amaranthe some listens next. 1
acidbasement Posted December 22, 2017 Report Posted December 22, 2017 This kinda defies categorization, but I like it. Melodic death metal meets delta blues and some other stuff along the way?
