I have a pair of Birkenstocks but since it will be winter, I thought sandals might be a little chilly. Guess I can always get more smart wool socks. Quote

boomana Posted October 26, 2011 Author Report Posted October 26, 2011 As an expert on all things having to do with crutches, I strongly advise against shoes with no back at all, as they will slip a bit as you shuffle around, making walking harder, if not more dangerous. I'd go with a slip on, but with a back or at least a strap. You can use one foot to get a shoe off the other foot, and if you need help putting them on, that's what your husband/friends/co-workers/student minions are for. Quote

Maybe I'll buy a pair of Milano Birkenstocks as well since they have a strap and my pair is pretty old. I am a little worried about taking off shoes and putting them on. It even hurts my hip a little right now to slip of my left shoe with my right foot. Quote
