tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Starting the process for upgrading the IPB forum software to version 3.2. You'll see some features disappear during the transition. Not sure how long the upgrade will take - will update this post/thread as things move along.
tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Upgrade took much longer than I thought - ran into a snag with the upgrade script. The main upgrade has been completed - I still need to add some mods back in and turn some features back on.
tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 still some work to be done - including re-doing the header logo so it matches the new background correctly now
tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 View New Content should work much better now and has several different options for how you can set it up.
Voltron Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Thank you for all the work Todd! The New Content options are great and the overall look is very sharp. Nice!
skullguise Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Definitely liking the apparent speed; my work reach to the internets is sometimes slow, and it is doing much better with this SW version than the last one. And agree re: cleaner look, too!
shellylh Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Looking great so far. I like the different new content options.
Torpedo Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 It's pretty nice, though in Chrome it's screwing the twitter box which shows very funny indeed. It also seems to have a slight problem with the avatars, which aren't keeping their original proportion and show slightly narrowed down in height, so they look wider. Chrome problem or are you having these same issues?
tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 Good catch - I checked with Tapatalk - it's a known issue and they are working on it. No ETA yet but knowing them it'll probably only be a few days. In the mean time the regular mobile version of the site works pretty well.
Voltron Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 (edited) I like the way that your posts are wysiwyg while preparing them, even with images inserted, bold or italics, font sizes, etc. No more need to preview stuff. Edited July 29, 2011 by Voltron
recstar24 Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Very snazzy. I am not able to go to the last read post under iPhone mobile theme for some reason.
deepak Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 View new content working again makes reading the forums glorious
guzziguy Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 I quoted a post, edited it and hit "Post". It said "Saving Post" indefinitely even though it was done. Not understanding what was going on, I added a double post. Since we don't yet have an "Edit" button, I couldn't clean up my mistake. So I have two requests: 1. If there is any way to do it, could you arrange for the "Saving Post" message to turn into "Done" when the post is saved? 2. Add an "Edit" button as before. Thanks.
Voltron Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Edit is still there in your own posts to the left of "multiquote" but it doesn't have a button around it. It highlights when you mouse over it, but it is there. Also, this "saving post" thing used to happen to me in another format and I learned that as soon as you definitely hit "post" you can move away from the page and the post will happen even if it seems hung up. The same thing happened to me minutes ago and I just moved on or reloaded the page and all was well.
tkam Posted July 29, 2011 Author Report Posted July 29, 2011 The HC logo is now updated to match the new style. I haven't seen the "saving post" thing sit there and not disappear yet - but based on how it works as soon you see it pop-up it's safe to assume that the post is already saved. Saving a post is really pretty much an instant thing.
Duggeh Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 can the [t] icon wallpaper for the twitter box be removed?
The Monkey Posted July 29, 2011 Report Posted July 29, 2011 Just played around for a few minutes, and I like it so far except for the magenta highlighting on the left side of the New Content page. No biggie. Thanks Todd! You are the best.
