deepak Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 If anyone has this DVDP (and a capable camera) can post shots of the same DVD at 480p vs 720p (or 1080i) I'd love to see the differences.

Yikes Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I?m going to hold out to see which format wins. I?m on my 4th SACD/DVD-A player, and I?ve just committed myself to purchasing a 5th (SACD/CD Only). I?m really not that critical of video performance. Not to mention the fact that I don't watch that many DVDs. Odd considering that I have about a thousand of them.
DigiPete Posted December 14, 2006 Author Report Posted December 14, 2006 Excuse me for being blunt but, how much? Got it from www.valueelectronics.com for $450, this included 2 free HD-DVDs, and Toshiba is offering another 3 free HD-DVDs on a seperate offer...

I decided that I am only going to rent (Netflix stocks HD-DVDs) so if this format looses in the long run, I will not have invested in a personal library, just the cost of the player. In the mean time there are over 150 titles out, so the pickin's are improving.
volcomjerk Posted December 14, 2006 Report Posted December 14, 2006 I have the 200 dollar HD DVD player for the 360 and wow... its like putting on a pair of glasses. I also do the Netflix renting since they are still too expensive. I also don't want to get stuck in a format but I do believe HD DVD will in fact come out on top.

DigiPete Posted December 15, 2006 Author Report Posted December 15, 2006 ...but you're not starting your own library. Freebies don't count... I guess I could sell them...
