ujamerstand
The chassis I am working on is the 3U 400mm deep chassis. You can probably use the 300mm chassis to cut the heatsink tapping cost (because the 300mm chassis have the sink in one piece) and place the transformer and switches in a separate box for better noise rejection. Those three boards are the power supply stack for the arduino and 12V relays, arduino board for controlling the attenuator boards, and a solid state relay for power switching. I'm planning on using the KG attenuator in this build, and I'd like to control the power switching with the arduino that controls the attenuator boards as well. jdkJake
Lil Knight, At the end, if you still have a dynaFET set and two PSU boards available, I would be more than happy to purchase them. Absolutely no hurry and I completely understand if they have all been committed. I am way late to the game! Thanks -- jk --
Lil Knight
Jake, I have 1 last Dynafet set left. A set = 2 amp boards + 2 PSU boards. Is that what you want? Or you need a set and 2 extra PSU boards.
jdkJake
I would like one set as you stated it (2 amp boards + 2 PSU boards). I am open to multiple payment options (direct bank-issued check? MO?) if you want to avoid the whole paypal debacle. Just let me know.
deepak
Cool Package to Deepak seems to be affected by the hurricane... Got stuck in NY for the last 5 or 6 days already Hopefully he won't receive a soaking wet box. I wasn't home this morning to sign for the package so they left me a slip saying I have to pick it up at the post office on Tuesday. I'll get the non-T2 people out quickly, but I want to make sure the envelopes I'm ordering for T2 people will fit the boards so they'll take a little while longer. I think these are the ones that match the boards. http://gilmore.chem....fetschembal.pdf http://gilmore.chem....ipowerschem.pdf http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/dynahiver2a.pdf Edited September 4, 2011 by kevin gilmore
Milosz
Not sure what the tracking number for my boards reveals - CP86 0093 942V N - USPS says "Notice Left" in Bow, New Hampshire. I live in Chicago ..... I guess this tracking is for a shipment of many board to Bow, New Hampshire where someone will split them up and ship them individually? I see on the spreadsheet that quite a few buyers have Tracking # CP86 0093 942V N, so it must be a mass shipment to be divided up and re-shipped....? spritzer
Just got my boards. It's a bit startling just how much smaller the Exstata V2 amp boards are compared to the KGSSHV given that they were once identical...

Or maybe chomping at the bit to build the first non KG bestowed DIY T2, are ya? Ok, I got a good laugh out of deepak's reply, going back to listening to Pink Floyd's "Marooned" on my KGSSHV. Love it! kevin gilmore
WARNING TO ALL... http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/dsc_2288.jpg The one on the left is real, the one on the right is fake, and breaks down at 200 volts. birgir and i got nailed on this, about half of the ones i bought were fake, and most of birgir's (if not all of them) are fake. Evidently there are also 2sa1486 fakes out there, i don't have any pictures of the fakes. Get yourself one of these http://www.ebay.com/itm/DY294-Transistor-Semiconductor-Parameter-Tester-Meter-/120755611246?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1d98666e and test all the high voltage transistors before you put them in. livewire
That would entail too much work. Basically they take inferior, lower voltage rated off the shelf transistors and relabel them. They prolly pay 20 cents a piece for them, then they mark em up to five dollars. Instant goldmine. I posted this also in the T2 thread: Sorry to hear this guys. To clarify, the 2SA1968 sand is used in the early Blue Hawaii, and the KGSSHV, but not in the DIY T2. Also the 2SA1968 sand in the KGSSHV amp can be supplanted by using ixtp01n100d sand as the current source instead. By all means buy the tester! I just got my sandmeter on order. Thanks KG!
