CanJam 2011 is RMAF (Denver CO 10/14-16)

Hey Peter, if you come out to CO let me know, would like to join you on that pre-RMAF photography venture. Could maybe take up to a few extra days off from work, especially if the weather is nice enough that weekend (i.e., hopefully no rain). Would be nice to hang out with another photographer, as opposed to my usual company who doesn't really have the patience to wait around for me taking pics. ;)

Sure, of course. One nice thing about Colorado is that it really isn't too bad of a drive from Denver/Boulder to just about anywhere you want to go in the state (unlike Calihugeafornia). So we can really get out there.

Booked my free hotel room at the Residence Inn in the vicinity of the show and my free flight into Denver. Should leave me plenty of money to buy some toys.

I will be at GABF for sure this year. Have tickets and hotel all booked.

We will be shooting gunnery in October but if it's not at the RMAF weekend I will try and make it down.

Just booked my hotel room today, so I'm officially in. Nice to see a small HC contingent forming, hope to see a few more.

Can provide a ride from/to the airport on Thu 10/13 (evening/night, as I'll be leaving straight from work) or Sun 10/16 for anyone who wants one, just post or PM me.

I don't think there was ever any doubt about this, but I will be attending and entertaining to the very best of my abilities. I love you all, and view this as a great chance to keep up with my good friends. Every year it becomes less about the gear, and every year I enjoy it more.

I'll also be attending GABF on Saturday October 1st. I even have a little drunk tank set up for after. Feel free to hop on that train too, friends. Always a good time.

Hi, is anyone interested in sharing a room and maybe splitting a car? I have yet to book a flight, so I'm flexible as far as arrival and departure.

I wasn't planning on attending, but United just took away 69,000 miles from my frequent Flyer account. So I need to fly sometime in the next several months to get the miles back. Those miles were reserved for a special trip to Asia (Probably China) that has been put on indefinite hold.

Just heard that there's probably going to be a prototype of a new electrostatic amp in Denver.

So, more fuel to the 009 fire!

We should be sure to have all the usual electrostatic suspects in attendance to give it a work-out!

Would this be from my favorite amp designer??

Yes indeedy jp!

I just noticed a few posts about Craig's prototype Electra over on that other site and while I haven't been following the evolution of this amp for very long, it seems like they have a few details wrong (I know,.. how the fuck could that happen?).

Mainly, since Craig and I have discussed designs for an electrostatic amp, the only DHT's that we've ever considered were the large transmitter tubes like a 211 or 845. I suppose you could get enough swing with other DHT's on the output but I've only considered the 300b as a driver for such an amp (they seemed to think that it uses 4 300b's on the output ).

" Basically two pairs of tube differential gain stages driving a differential 6L6GC with split inductor plate loads."

And from another email;

"It uses four Tung Sol 50's style 6L6 upgraded to GC with four 6SN7 drivers. The amp will swing close to 800V PP with an input sensitivity of less than a volt."
