Knuckledragger Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 Oh, my. In 2002, Oliver Lieb recorded an album for release under his L.S.G. alias. Superstition Records, the label he'd been releasing all of his L.S.G. material on up to that point, went bankrupt. He shelved the album and went on to other projects for five years. In 2007, he gave away a 192k mp3, initially via MySpace. It was one continuous track, which meant it was pretty much useless for DJing purposes. Today he announced that the album will be released on his BandCamp page on the 28th. Finally, there will be a proper release for this album.

en480c4 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 (edited) Austra - Olympia came out today. You had me at electro-goth. I Feel It Break, and Katie Stelmanis' vocals are great. Edited June 18, 2013 by en480c4
Dusty Chalk Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 I just got this article in my email, made me curious.
en480c4 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Thanks for posting that. I didn't get a chance to listen to the new album today, but after reading, I can't wait to give it a listen at work tomorrow.
en480c4 Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Just finishing up my 2nd listen this morning. It's fantastic, and I have a whole new appreciation for what I'm hearing and the differences between the albums after reading that article. I the album, for sure. It's pretty damn amazing.
blessingx Posted August 21, 2013 Report Posted August 21, 2013 Alga Marghen releasing compilation of silent music http://thewire.co.uk/news/26283/alga-marghen-releasing-compilation-of-silent-music
Dusty Chalk Posted August 28, 2013 Author Report Posted August 28, 2013 Well this is interesting:Hesitation Marks was mastered in two different ways - the standard, “loud” mastering (which is what you’ll find on the CD, on iTunes, and everywhere else), and also an alternate “audiophile” mastering, which we’re offering as a free download option for anyone who purchases the album through http://store.nin.com/ . For the majority of people, the standard version will be preferable and differences will be difficult to detect. Audiophiles with high-end equipment and an understanding of the mastering process might prefer the alternate version. For a detailed explanation with quotes from Alan Moulder and Tom Baker, read our blog post at http://nineinchnails.tumblr.com/post/59587808317/hesitation-marks-was-mastered-in-two-different NOTE: The standard mastered version is in no way inferior to the Audiophile Version - we wouldn’t release something inferior as the default. And vinyl purists rest assured, the vinyl edition was mastered to sound the very best for that format. The Audiophile Version is merely an alternate take on the mastering, which some people will appreciate. It’s meant to give a slightly different experience, not denigrate the standard version. Listen to each and come to your own conclusions. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted August 28, 2013 Author Report Posted August 28, 2013 Yeah, but free (as long as you buy it directly from us).
Dusty Chalk Posted August 30, 2013 Author Report Posted August 30, 2013 And they just announced that they'll be releasing on HDTracks as well...I wonder which version...
en480c4 Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 3 releases today worth mentioning...Sarah Jarosz - Build Me Up From BonesCHVRCHES - The Bones if What You BelieveFrankie Rose - Herein WildI've been looking forward to two of them, and the third was a pleasant surprise to find out about yesterday.
Voltron Posted September 24, 2013 Report Posted September 24, 2013 Why doesn't Frankie Rose have the word "bones" in his album title? Didn't he get the memo?
Dusty Chalk Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 Au Revoir Simone's and Anneke's albums Move in Spectrums and Drive (respectively) both come out toda...yesterday as well. And Oh Land's Wish Bone.
en480c4 Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Why doesn't Frankie Rose have the word "bones" in his album title? Didn't he get the memo? I noticed that when I was typing them out... And Frankie, oddly enough, is a she. Au Revoir Simone's and Anneke's albums Move in Spectrums and Drive (respectively) both come out toda...yesterday as well. And Oh Land's Wish Bone. I really like Au Revoir Simone's stuff I heard on Spotify. I'll have to dig a little deeper. I'll be curious on what people think about Anneke's album. Her stuff is usually pretty hot and cold for me.
Voltron Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Yeah, I realized Frankie was a she when I listened to the album, along with the rest of your list, plus Oh Land on Dusty's recco. I knew Sarah but not the others, and I enjoyed them.
roadtonowhere08 Posted October 23, 2013 Report Posted October 23, 2013 New Kauan album on the way. It is one song. Forty minutes. Here's five: http://www.invisibleoranges.com/2013/10/song-debut-kauan-lightfox/ Hard to judge based off of this, but it is a return to the more doom style from their earlier albums. I cannot get enough of this band. 1

Dusty Chalk Posted December 3, 2013 Author Report Posted December 3, 2013 Yeah, that is some awesome post-rock. Will purchase as soon as my future is more certain.
en480c4 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Don't know the exact release date, but I'm definitely looking forward to a new Agalloch album in 2014.
