humanflyz Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Well, I'm looking for a CD transport that has AES digital out, because the coaxial input on my Lavry is already taken up by my computer. My budget is around $500.
Iron_Dreamer Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 It would probably be cheaper/easier to find a soundcard with AES output, like the RME Digi 96/8 PAD, and get a CD player with coax output. In the past, I've noticed people looking for CD transports with AES on a budget don't get very far.

My budget is around $500. How about a Monarchy DIP. You can either get the non upsampling 24/96 model, or the upsampling 48/96 model, depending on your setup. Then you can use just about any transport with optical or standard coax out and convert it to AES, whilst reducing jitter and boosting the signal strength.
n_maher Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Disregard my previous statement, I think I misunderstood what the Monarchy does. D'OH!
Salt Peanuts Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 IIRC, CEC CD3300 (or CD3300R) has one, and you should be able to find one under $500. I know nothing about its performance as a transport, though. EDIT - corrected the model number.
