eggil Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 I may be interested since I missed on the last run. Can you remote control them?
ujamerstand Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 You'll need to build your own controller for the attenuator. (i.e., an arduino) You can add remote control functionality to it.
eggil Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 I have never played with an arduino; I guess I may have to sooner or later.
niner Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I was considering about making another batch of bare boards. Anyone else want to join in?
nopants Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 is there a compelling reason to run boards for this one over the amb or twisted pear offerings
RudeWolf Posted January 31, 2014 Report Posted January 31, 2014 I found the TP JTree to be a bit of a hassle to implement right. Heck, I'd rather take TDK instead. What I'm anxious to try are the PGA2320 chips.
nopants Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 If that's the case with commercial offerings then sure I'd be down to grab a few attenuator boards.
Emooze Posted February 1, 2014 Report Posted February 1, 2014 I've built a simple circuit with a PGA2310 which is very similar to the 2320 but comes in a DIP16 package. The only things I haven't done yet are figure out the input and output impedance and how well balanced operation would work.
Max Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 The AMB attenuator is pretty good: http://www.amb.org/audio/delta1/ I've used the PGA2310 and the PGA2320. They are pretty good but I can never get them to be quiet, there always seems to be some noise.
iwik Posted May 8, 2014 Report Posted May 8, 2014 Anyone have used the KG Digital Att with Pot/Vol/Bal controls for an amp. If so how did it work out. What did you use for controls. Want to do it but was interested if there wereany snags found.ThanksLes
iwik Posted July 16, 2014 Report Posted July 16, 2014 Just finished my two boards and wanted to say thanks to Kevin/Kerry and stv1756 for their valued contributions. Assembly was straight forward and for a guy with buggared eye sight the 1206 smd were great. My pair are for my T2 and will be balanced arrangement. The code worked well and absolutely thrilled. This is my 3rd KG project that's worked first time and above expectation. Les
lkong Posted July 21, 2015 Report Posted July 21, 2015 Anyone had experience with the smt version attenuator in the board dump? Is the board verified?
kevin gilmore Posted July 23, 2015 Author Report Posted July 23, 2015 finally cleaning up, i have one extra set of the original attenuators, part of the buy that kerry did, professionaly assembled, and i tested them last night, so if anyone is interested i can sell that pair. Price is whatever kerry charged, which might take me a while to look up.

Kerry Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) If I remember correctly they were around $97 $99 per board. I'm going to review the new smt version of the board and order a couple so I can test it. EDIT: I just checked on the price of the original assembled boards. I have a set sitting in front of me that i'm putting into my BH build. Edited July 23, 2015 by Kerry

Pars Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 (edited) I was just looking at the 24.3K BOM and Mouser, and it appears that Mouser doesn't stock 6 of the resistor values anymore (in the IRC/TT PFC 1206). If anyone has already worked through this problem, let me know. Also, I assume that this version of the attenuator (Kerry group buy, 24.3K impedance) would work fine with the Multiamp? Timely, I know Chris Edited July 23, 2015 by Pars
kevin gilmore Posted July 23, 2015 Author Report Posted July 23, 2015 for multiamp, you really want the 10k version.

Pars Posted July 23, 2015 Report Posted July 23, 2015 for multiamp, you really want the 10k version. Is it still an issue if using FET input? I believe the 1st BOMs were for 10K? I presume the Rt termination resistor = 10K is what I am looking for?
