skullguise Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Extra warm thoughts and wishes coming your way from here, too! Sorry it wasn't the best of days, it deserves multiple extra celebrations when things settle, to make up for it!
Hopstretch Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Happy Belated Birthday Al and all the very best to your Mom.
tyrion Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Al, sorry to hear about your mom. I hope she gets better soon!
Voltron Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Thank you so much for your messages everyone. Your instant response yesterday did me a lot of good and all that positive energy even buoyed my Mom up a bit. She had a good day yesterday and Claire and I and the kids visited her in the hospital last night along with my oldest brother and sister, a nephew and my beleaguered but dauntless 88 year old Dad. They sang happy birthday to me as they have every year of my life. Although we were supposed to be bringing dinner for the crew, my brother had a birthday cake from the supermarket to make it complete. Keep thinking good thoughts because my Mom is having a really bad day again today. I will be heading back after I get done with jury duty tonight. You don't have to keep posting because I know you're behind us, but I wanted to thank you all and give a quick update. Al
bhjazz Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 But we will keep posting! Hope today turned out ok, Al. I'm sure all the events keep you from complete concentration, but that's just because you care about someone. Just remember: one day at a time. That's all we can do.
guzziguy Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Here's more good thoughts and wishes for the MOTDOTU. I hope that she is feeling and doing better.
Augsburger Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 (edited) Wishing your Mom a speedy recovery and a better day/week for you my friend. Hang in there. Sorry, I guess I shouldn't say "hang" to a juror. Sorry. Edited March 22, 2011 by Augsburger
philodox Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Wow, what a day! Best wishes for you and your Mother Al.
Absorbine_Sr Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 Yeah, we'll keep posting. The birthday continues until everything works out. Hang in there Al!
n_maher Posted March 22, 2011 Report Posted March 22, 2011 I'll be sending positive thoughts your way, robot-buddy.
swt61 Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 She's very lucky to have a family like yours to support her.
jvlgato Posted March 23, 2011 Report Posted March 23, 2011 Damn, just peeked in on what I thought were a hundred routine Bday wishes! Sorry to hear it's NOT been that... Best to your Mom, Al! I really hope she gets better soon!
Torpedo Posted March 24, 2011 Report Posted March 24, 2011 Best wishes to MOTTOTU. You owe yourself a proper celebration when she's well and moving is finished. Hopefully very soon.
Voltron Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 All these good wishes are paying big dividends. I just visited my Miracle Mom this morning, and the improvement is truly remarkable. She is clear headed and conversant and was quite capable of independently standing up and even claimed she has gone to the bathroom herself. We chided her for that one, but seriously I cannot believe the difference from my last visit when she could not talk clearly or even stand up on her own. She really didn't know where she was until yesterday, and now wants to head home immediately, but at a minimum she will have to spend some interim time at a nursing home for rehab and more care than we can guaranty at home. Best of all, I asked my Mom if she wanted to go to see the World Champion San Francisco Giants on Opening Day two weeks from today and she said “Sure I do!” I guess we have a new goal to achieve!
Torpedo Posted March 25, 2011 Report Posted March 25, 2011 Fantastic news Al, still sending positive energy
