K3cT Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 My Parasound has that input so I'm definitely interested. Yours too am I correct Padam? The price is a bit iffy though, I'm honestly more tempted with the popular Audiophilleo at that range. If you're interested in AES/EBU input, there is also the cheaper Kingrex UC-192 but I'm having difficulties to find a store near my country that sells it. Quote
padam Posted July 22, 2011 Report Posted July 22, 2011 (edited) Yes pretty much the same as yours except twice as many K-grade chipses to provide balanced output (which I will use soon). I could try that Kingrex locally to compare with the Halide, although that needs a special digital cable which I am sure they don't have - I guess they couldn't fit the standard 3-pin connector there... fishski13 Posted July 23, 2011 Report Posted July 23, 2011 Got the V-link this morning and I instantly noticed an improvement on the image as more precise, the sound is more fluid and natural. I couldn't even play vinyl rips because how bad it sounded but now they play smoothly. For those like me using a PC with older dacs without that async stuff this is a must and unlike all the snake oils in audio this for 100€ is well worth. the V-Link is a pretty sweet piece. i slapped it in between my 'puter and my legacy BM DAC1, and poof, there was music. i much prefer the 'puter/V-link to my previous cheap dvd players/DAC1. so much for the DAC1 being immune to jitter?
