HeadphoneAddict Posted November 14, 2012 Report Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) Comcast home service, at home. Edited November 14, 2012 by HeadphoneAddict
Salt Peanuts Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 Decided to pay $5 extra to more than triple the download speed and quintuple the upload speed.
jvlgato Posted November 16, 2012 Report Posted November 16, 2012 Wow! I'll have to look into that with my AT&T Uverse plan.
Tyll Hertsens Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) My new Internet at the house in Falls Church. WTF. You need that bandwidth to teleport yourself or something!? From myt back porch wifi. This is about 3x better download and 20x better upload since I switched to Optimum. (You'll notice I've been able to do HD on my videos now.) Knuckledragger Posted November 27, 2012 Author Report Posted November 27, 2012 So apparently my ISP has been screwing me for AGES by charging me an extra $12 a month and charging me for the 30Mbps rate while giving me 15Mbps. I just got off the phone with them and now my connection looks like this:
Grahame Posted December 6, 2012 Report Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) Thanks to This (on a black friday deal) I have access to shareable PAYG data, for when I'm not in the wi-fi cloud at work, or home. Not bad data rates when all the bars were lit up either Edited December 6, 2012 by Grahame
jvlgato Posted December 24, 2012 Report Posted December 24, 2012 Wow! Visiting Iceland for the holidays?
Dusty Chalk Posted December 24, 2012 Report Posted December 24, 2012 Meh, fuck you both. Although, I have to admit, mine seems to be a step up from the usual 'paltry' to 'adequate', and that's with Spotify streaming continuously:
Iron_Dreamer Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 Just got FiOS installed at the office, it's so much nicer than the Verizon 4G Mifi we'd been using for the last 8 months!
Dusty Chalk Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 I remember when that would have been faster than 99% of the US.
shellylh Posted December 27, 2012 Report Posted December 27, 2012 I need to get back home. I can't stand these slow download speeds any longer.
naamanf Posted December 29, 2012 Report Posted December 29, 2012 read 'em and weep: Should be happy about it, imperialist pig.
Grahame Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Comcast claimed this in an email this morning Dear Valued Customer, Great news! We've increased your Internet speed! Now the download speed on your Performance Internet service is up to 66% faster with speeds up to 25 Mbps and we have more than doubled your upload speeds up to 5 Mbps. for once they may not be speaking with forked tongue. And all without a cable modem reboot.
mikeymad Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 (edited) About the same results here Grahame... But not much up from my old results 1.5 years ago.. Speed up a tick... upload up most. with ping getting much better I don't complain too much these days, because they don't ding me on my usage. Edited March 24, 2013 by mikeymad
VPI Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Comcast must have stolen some bandwidth from Verizon as my speeds are down.
tkam Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Grahame that looks like good news, Comcast did the free speed upgrades for some of us on the East Coast last year and it sounds like they are rolling out the to the rest of the country now. When I first signed up I was on the Blast! plan which I think was 25 down 5 up. They raised it up to 50 down 10 up last year and as can be seen in the test below I do see higher than 50 down on occasion.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 24, 2013 Report Posted March 24, 2013 Wowzers, 75?!?!? Meso upgraded only to 51/11:
The Monkey Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 My old Airport Extreme bit the dust last night (power supply). So I went to the Apple store to pick up the new version and be tempted by the Mini Retina. Unbelievably, I did not buy a Mini, but I did get the router. It's fast, the numbers below are WiFi:But it really is a PITA to get this thing to play perfectly nice with the Verizon FiOS router.
