Salt Peanuts Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/01/duke-nukem-forever-release-date/ I'll believe it when I actually see it. Quote
Grahame Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Shake it baby! http://www.reghardware.com/2011/01/21/duke_nukem_forever_spring_release/ Quote
tkam Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 i can believe it, development was taken over and didn't they have a playable demo at pax? Quote
Fitz Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Nothing will be able to live up to the legacy of duke 3d though, imo. Quote
n_maher Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 i can believe it, development was taken over and didn't they have a playable demo at pax? I heard there were several playable demos of it in back rooms at CES. Quote
NightWoundsTime Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 So I always thought that when this did eventually come out I'd have no interest in playing it. That trailer though... I may have to reconsider. Quote
manaox2 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 That trailer was bad ass. I knew there was a reason I bought that graphics card. Quote
KrypticMind Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Gearbox is pretty legit, so I have no doubts it's coming out. I'm just wondering if we'll have rechargeable shields and driving akin to Halo again like in Borderlands. Edited January 23, 2011 by KrypticMind Quote
NightWoundsTime Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I think any game sets itself up for failure these days if they don't implement the rechargeable shields. The kiddies just don't know how to manage a health bar anymore. For a totally over the top action game can't say I mind it. Been playing a bit of Vanquish lately and that game would blow without rechargeable health. Quote
Duggeh Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I fucking hate regenerating health in an FPS. There were a great many things about it which sucked, but nothing did more to ruin the new Goldeneye Wii than that retarded regenerating health mechanic. Quote
deepak Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 IMO the trailer looked terrible. Doom 3 era graphics, the driving looking like something out of a Nintendo 64 game, and lame shock value gimmicks. I'm sure it will be fun, but it looked far from a big budget developer's title from that trailer. Quote

The final version should have the graphics updated. Duke was always about the shock value gimmicks. That seems to do well these days. Edited January 24, 2011 by manaox2 Quote

Oh I've played all the Duke games including the side scroller It just seemed like this trailer put too much emphasis on it. Quote
