NightWoundsTime Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 As in the title, just announcing for the beer folks that Cigar City's big yearly release event is March 12th at the brewery. Noon to Midnight, and there will be tons of great beer on tap, as well as food and music.
raffy Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Sounds good Matt, count me as probable for this event!
tyrion Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 Matt, I am going to try to schedule something up there for Friday afternoon so I can get there at 12 to get a number.
Duggeh Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 If I can start writing off trips to the States as business expenses so long as they involve visiting a brewery, I'll be there.
Tyll Hertsens Posted January 17, 2011 Report Posted January 17, 2011 I haven't recovered from the last Tampa thing. Y'all be crazy!!
NightWoundsTime Posted January 17, 2011 Author Report Posted January 17, 2011 (edited) Matt, I am going to try to schedule something up there for Friday afternoon so I can get there at 12 to get a number. The 12th is a Saturday and they're handing out armbands starting at Noon. I'm guessing there won't be a number system, just a line starting before 6. Initial limit is 4, they're only handing out 750 armbands and there are 3000 bottles so getting to the front of that line won't be necessary. After everyone's been through and I'm guessing turned in their bands they'll sell off whatever's left. Last year there were a lot of people who didn't take their limit of 6 so I'm guessing we'll be able to buy whatever we want. I'm bringing mules though, just in case. NightWoundsTime Posted January 17, 2011 Author Report Posted January 17, 2011 If I can start writing off trips to the States as business expenses so long as they involve visiting a brewery, I'll be there. Visiting a brewery to taste the #3 beer on Ratebeer and bring back bottles of #17 should be worth something, shouldn't it?
jp11801 Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Matt wish I could do this but time and money say no
justin Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 If I can start writing off trips to the States as business expenses so long as they involve visiting a brewery, I'll be there. as long as someone takes out a headphone, i could write this one off
emelius Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 can't make it...kinda hoping to buy or trade for a couple Hunahpus if anyone can spare 'em... Mike was nice enough to hook me up last year... perhaps we could do a Hunahpu for Dark Lord swap come April 30th... if not, it's no big deal...cheers... have fun guys...
manaox2 Posted March 7, 2011 Report Posted March 7, 2011 (edited) Can't make it. I has a sad. Any way I could trade a bottle of something special or, you know, money? As Emelius stated, if not, I'll live. Edited March 7, 2011 by manaox2
NightWoundsTime Posted March 9, 2011 Author Report Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Just wanted to post what you're all missing: Hunaphu Release Day Details The first 750 people who receive a wristband will be able to buy Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (up to 4 bottles) when it goes on sale at 6pm. If you are paying by credit card you will be able to pre-pay for your bottles immediately or throughout the day so that you can quickly get your bottles when they go on sale. If there are any bottles left after all 750 people have come to claim/buy their bottles OR 9pm (leaving a 3 hour window for you to claim your bottles if you have a wristband) the remaining bottles will go on sale to the public. Bottles will be for sale ONLY at the brewery. They will not go into distribution. *Re-Entry is allowed throughout the day so you can come and get your wristband and come back later if you have something else to do, it is not required that you be here all day to claim your bottles at 6pm. In addition to Hunaphu's Imperial Stout, we will have other limited bottles for sale in the brewery: Papaya IPA (Benefit beer for the Florida Brewer's Guild) Dirac Imperial Sweet Stout (Mikkeller Collab) Bohr Imperial Sweet Stout (Mikkeller Collab) Vuja De (St. Somewhere Collab) Humidor IPA Warmer Winter Winter Warmer Guava Grove Tap List- (CCB) Jolly Guava 2011- Only 5 gallons of this one! Whole Foods Hooker Tea Company Hey look California... our breweries know how to throw a party! Team FL always does that best. As far as bottles... NO BOTTLES FOR YOU! Probably. Voltron Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 (edited) Wah! I want to go to Hunaphu Day too! Amazing beer lists. Are you staying at the same hotel so you can just stumble in/out? EDIT: Fucker! I just read the note underneath. That's fucked that we get no bottles. Edited March 9, 2011 by Voltron
Duggeh Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 My (very) thin chances of writing this off are dead. Although in better news, I will have a commercial scale brewing facility for use by or before this time next year. I'll have to have some of you buggers over this side for the inauguration.
Voltron Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 Exciting news, Doug. It would be grand to help you christen your facility.
luvdunhill Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I'll have to have some of you buggers over this side for the inauguration. Wow! I'd be so in for that!
Dusty Chalk Posted March 9, 2011 Report Posted March 9, 2011 I find your ideas interesting and wish to subscribe to your newsfeed.
emelius Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 looks like somebody's gonna bring a vertical of Dark Lord...'04-'10...be on the lookout...i'm assuming he's only bringing one of each...might be worth finding this guy...
NightWoundsTime Posted March 11, 2011 Author Report Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) Very Very Interesting. I'll have a couple bottles of smaller CCB limited releases on hand to make sure I get in on that. Also just added to the tap list: White Oak Patio Tools. As I've commented before, White Oak Jai Alai IPA is pretty awesome, but they've only made small batches and the distributor really hoarded them. I don't know where they went but they never hit the market. Patio Tools is the yearly St Patty's Dry Irish Stout (and if you say the name out loud a few times it makes sense). I have no way to imagine what this beer will taste like with the White Oak addition, and I like that feeling. Edited March 11, 2011 by NightWoundsTime
Edwood Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 Nice! Looking forward to your impressions. Mmmmmm. I needs me a good brew again......
