Torpedo
Twins?? Well, your eye shadows kind of tell it.
tyrion
The best part about the twins is that I can hand them back to their parents when I've had enough. Good practice for being a grandparent, but hopefully not for another 7 or 8 years.

skullguise
Spent the day today helping my son and his friend on their "Mitzvah Project" (good deed when becoming a Bar-Mitzvah). They had helped organize and host a drive for the Gift of Life, a bone marrow registry organization. We got over 75 people to register, worked with some amazingly wonderful volunteers, and the kids learned some valuable life lessaons today. A truly great experience! Better news is that we'll be doing another one in July.
Salt Peanuts
went clothes and shoe shopping. i ended up buying two pairs of the same shoes i've been wearing for the last year and a half. That's usually what I end up doing - why mess with something that you know is going to be comfortable.

Dusty Chalk
You drove to rehobeth and still missed out on life and limb? Oh man, that sucksYeah, I stopped twice to call them and see if they still had any. They did "manage expectations", and told me honestly that they had very little left both times, so I kind of knew I was going to be too late, but I still had to try. Bunch of things I could have done differently -- got an earlier start, not stopped for breakfast (or got something I could have eaten while driving), not stopped at the Calvin Klein outlet to get a couple pairs of jeans, drove faster, stopped less, etc., so I can only blame myself. Basically, I shouldn't have gone. Also, since I was by the ocean, I wanted seafood, but the place I ate at accidentally served me a chicken sandwich instead, and my judgment was sufficiently impaired that I didn't even notice (other than the meat wasn't as tender as I thought fish should be). So yeah -- pretty much a wasted trip.
Augsburger
Caught the final stage of the Amgen Tour de California. Awesome location, caught all four of the final laps and saw plenty of bike porn. Damn, I would love to drop some big coin on a new carbon bike, shoes and sram groupo, but aint gonna happen; landscaper has first dibs on my wallet for the next few months. I haven't really been watching the ToC this year (distracted by the Giro) but it looks like it was a great race. Take it from me all the toys don't make you much faster If you do get the SRAM though I highly recommend you switch to Yokozuna cables instead of the Gore stuff, it's almost like having Di2 after that and the breaking is incredible. Mentioning bike porn I'm picking these up from my store this afternoon (the tires are getting glued on today): Though I probably can't ride them for a few weeks anyway though as I have a deal with my wife as to what I can weigh when I ride them and I've been bad over the last couple months. Dreadhead
In an effort to be less fat I'm currently looking at a Specialized Rubaix. Nice The Roubaix is a sweet bike and a excellent performer for the money, I had originally wanted one. If you're more flexible (litterally) the cheapest "race" bike these days is the Canondale CAAD10 which is incredible according to everyone I've seen do a review or own one. n_maher
I'm after comfy and have no intentions of racing or riding competitively.
Dreadhead
Roubaix it is then. It's pretty much the best comfort road bike or #2 depending on model year. I will put a plug in for SRAM components. They are awesome in that the performance is essentially identical throughout the range which is not the case with Shimano. I'm thinking of changing my only non sram bike over to Apex to try it out.(As a note Contador climbed up Zircolan in the Grio with a SRAM Apex rear derailleur and 11-32 casette)
n_maher
Yeah, it's down to the following choices: Cannondale - Synapse Carbon 6 Apex Cannondale - Synapse Alloy 5 105 Specialized - Secteur Elite Apex Specialized - Roubaix Elite SL2 Apex I've just about ruled out the Cannondales for their slightly more aggressive geometry, which I neither need nor want. So really it boils down to whether or not I want to pay for a carbon frame setup.
Dreadhead
Well I have brand new wheels that are entirely carbon and titanium so you can guess what I'd recommend..... To be honest though I'd say the Roubaix will likely be your best investment if you're really going to ride a lot, carbon rules for ride quality. The mixture of bottom bracket stiffness and vertical compliance is pretty much awesome.

What he said. /\ /\ /\ /\ /\ Carbon fiber gives you the feel of the road without the constant rattle and vibration transmission from the asphalt. If you do any climbing and need to get out of the saddle, your back will thank you for the carbon fiber post ride. Oh, congrats Al!
