mypasswordis Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 Yup, he is from Washington and operated along the coast, and says a bunch of people he knew in Cali were sending him vids of everything catching on fire.

Life works in mysterious ways. edit: also, stay safe Cali Why did he only own it for about half an hour?
Hopstretch Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 Still v. smoky here. Probably not all pot byproduct. 1 1

The great wager... open all the windows and air the place out or keep the hatches battened down another night? Seriously... the air has just been disgusting. I've got a big headache and I'm sure its from breathing this crap.
Torpedo Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 Stay safe, Cali mates. I wish they control those fires soon. 1
Hopstretch Posted October 11, 2017 Report Posted October 11, 2017 Update on the wine situation. Not great but better than initially feared: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/10/business/wineries-california-wildfire.html Another positive -- kids and I tried to sign up to help out at the nearest evacuation center and were turned down because they'd already had such a flood of volunteers that all spots were filled for the next few weeks. Their school PTA is putting together backpacks of toiletries, stationery, stuffed animals, pajamas etc. for kids in the affected areas, so we assembled a couple of those and dropped them off. Classroom was already half full of bags on the first day of the effort -- nice to see. 8 1
Hopstretch Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-fires-northern-california-20171011-story.htmlNot so great ...
EdipisReks1 Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 (edited) Ohio isn't burning down, but Wednesday was one of the worst days I've ever experienced. I've had some pretty bad days. I'm kind of in awe that I've grown enough to not be a complete and total wreck. I'm not even drinking my way out (I wish I were). I hope the Cali crew starts having better luck. morphsci Posted October 12, 2017 Author Report Posted October 12, 2017 Been busy with our house closing so missed a bit. Glad all the NorCal peeps are OK. Hoping for better air and maybe some moisture to help out the situation. Stay safe.
skullguise Posted October 12, 2017 Report Posted October 12, 2017 That video that Mikey posted is really fucking haunting! It's like a movie about a post-apocalyptic world.....so horrible that it is reality.....wishing the best for everyone there......

Sechtdamon Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 My father got cataract surgery yesterday. And did not care about it. Also I made him help organising/unboxing my speakers. He went to doctor for control today and doctor said that lens is moved. Fuck I feel guilty as hell. He have to have another surgery today. I feel hell today... 2
Hopstretch Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Sorry to hear. My father had the same thing happen many years ago. If the retina is not detached, there is a good chance it will be OK in the end. 1

That won't help a tiny bit to get his lens in position, so relax and take care of yourself, you need to be fine to take care of him too 1
Sechtdamon Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 He got out from operation room. As doctor said, his eye is fine. But they want to keep him under supervision for 1 day. 3 1
Voltron Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Listen to Dr Antonio! And help your dad take it easy for a couple days. 1
