tyrion Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 In the ER with my 89 mom. I think it's going to be a long night. Not sure what's wrong, she's just weak, probably dehydrated and complaining of generalized pain.
tyrion Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I got her back home. All the tests were normal. She must have a virus.
mypasswordis Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 I used WASAPI with my 0202 USB or 0404 USB. http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_wasapi Woah thanks, didn't know that existed. Anything you had to do to get sound to work? Currently "plays" fine in foobar (spectrum visualization moves) but no sound, I'm thinking maybe it's not mapping correctly? Wishing a speedy recovery to MOTtyrion.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 ikea has a good cheap oneThis one (Gorm)? Holds 8 per shelf? Also looking at this 180-bottle one, this 60-bottle one, and this one that looks like it holds less than a bottle (I am just looking at that last one). I intend to put my beer in there, too -- wine racks will hold bombers, won't they? I'm still tempted by the J.K. Adams. They had me at "tinker toys". EDIT: And this one, just because it's less than US$1/bottle.
grawk Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 definitely good news mike. Dusty, I'd go with Gorm, in whatever combination of parts works for your space. Or Omar.
shellylh Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Mike, Glad to hear your mom is "ok." The ER is no fun. Hope she can fight off the virus quickly and feel better soon.
shellylh Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 dropped my Yanagi really close to my foot. Not such a good plan.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 it wan't planned, trust me. i have a new knife rule: don't stumble. I once accidentally stabbed my best friend with a camping knife in his thigh when I stumbled. Only half an inch or so went on, though.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Yes. He was the Best Man at my wedding, in fact.
mypasswordis Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Something about the platelets and whatnot.
The Monkey Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Checked in to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando for two days while my parents take the little monkey. Trying to remember what it's like to relax. The mojitos are helping.
n_maher Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Checked in to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando for two days while my parents take the little monkey. Trying to remember what it's like to relax. The mojitos are helping. Hell yes, that's one of my favorite summer beverages. Enjoy the R&R, Dinny.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Went to yet another appointment for the tendonitis of my left wrist/thumb. They gave me a bigger wrist brace/thumb splint. I also got a PT appointment for the wrist/thumb. Hopefully, this will get better soon as it's been three months of semi-constant pain.
Voltron Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Jealous, Dinny. Have a nice time but don't get http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7TWLxCIgwE.
Aimless1 Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Seems to be the week for bad news here @ HC. Got the call at work. My wife's pink slip from her school is now an official lay off notice. I've really been too busy to think about it until now. Since she is one of 20 high school teachers that are laid off, I have to believe that this is a permanent lay off for her. Second Famous Grouse in progress. I'm in shock. Completely misread what was going on. I'm both angry and would have no problems beating the shit out of a school board member or administrator, and sad, as in crying sad. We've suffered through a combined income decrease in 2010 of $10000+. We viewed it as no more disposable income. But this literally hurts financially. We're 4 years away from early retirement (age 62). Still depend on two incomes since I made the decision years ago to be a stay at home father with my young daughters, we're still feeling the effects of that decision. I'm literally lost at the moment, which is unusual for me. Not likely to find another teaching position as all school districts are in the same boat. Neighboring district pink slipped every teacher. Honestly, I don't think we can survive this financially. I'm not looking fondly at starting over this close to age 60. Damn, this truly sucks Sorry, I'm having a hard time seeing the up side of this situation. I can't find the escape clause or golden opportunity.
Torpedo Posted April 19, 2011 Report Posted April 19, 2011 Wow mate, horrible news, I'm sorry Keep calm, I'm sure you'll find a way to survive this issue as anything else. One doesn't grow a family and gets in the sixties by chance.
