acidbasement Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 It doesn't (until today) happen here. That's why the guy was able to walk into the Parliament buildings with a long gun. I doubt if that could easily happen in the US capitol building. The soldier who died wasn't even armed. Dammit.
robm321 Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 No gun, but we did let someone wander into the White House recently.
livewire Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 You can bet that his successors will be armed to the teeth like these good old boys.
grawk Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 from the footage I saw, they have no shortage of those guys already.
Grahame Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Came to the realization that the general public's taste in headphones differs from mine, while browsing the headphone selection available airside at SFO international
shellylh Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 You can't get that unless you have some gold teeth to go with it. 1
Augsburger Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 And the taste bypass The medical term for that is "Lobotomy". 2
Torpedo Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 "how to get robbed" How to get robbed twice.
Grahame Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Arrived at LHR. Met at airport by rental "rep-mobile". Pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be, rather than a ford or Vauxhall but instead, a VW Passat TDI 2.0 blue motion with sat nav and leather, for the same price. Result! Somewhat tempered by the fact, that filling the tank from 1/4 full, at the link local Tesco's was just over 73 quid. Call it 100 quid for a full tank (estimated 700 mile range) Got back to Joanne's Mother's, to find her brother washing his new toy I got to ride shotgun, with the top down, on a quick blast, "to dry the brakes" Need to rest now. Didn't get much sleep on the flight. 4
Pars Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Not as fun as Grahame's travels, but took the afternoon off and went with some co-workers to Lagunitas Chicago brewery. Pretty impressive, and I already knew I was pretty much a Lagunitas slut anyhow. Cool wall mural made from bottlecaps Also stopped at Urban Legend in Westmont on our way back. Pretty good stuff, and a cool little place!. Sorry for the crappy iphone pics. Edited October 25, 2014 by Pars 3
ironbut Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Always loved Morgans Graham. Just keep the termites away!
Grahame Posted October 25, 2014 Report Posted October 25, 2014 Always loved Morgans Graham. Just keep the termites away! The aficionados call them "moggies" apparently, and the timber sub-frame now has a rubber seal. Termites not a big issue in the UK (too damp?)
Absorbine_Sr Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 I am jealous of your brother in law Grahame. I've wanted a Morgan since I first laid eyes on one.
cetoole Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Now you just have to lift the speakers up onto them.
CD44hi Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 stands. much tired. Hey Chris if you need help hoisting the speakers up there, let me know. I can do one weekday evening.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Yeah, ditto, although I can probably only do weekends.
Fitz Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Played KF with Brent and Colin. Colin was terrible as usual. 2
Fitz Posted October 26, 2014 Report Posted October 26, 2014 Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.
