Knuckledragger Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Started off bright and early (by my standards) to run a bunch of errands, only the Fit is 100% dead. No power at all. I didn't leave the lights (interior or exterior) on, and the car has less than 700 miles one it. Most likely I will be webcasting from home this evening.
Knuckledragger Posted February 24, 2014 Report Posted February 24, 2014 ^ Still unfit. After getting it jumped, the Fit is once again dead. I'm having it towed to the dealership this morning, where I will no doubt spend most of the day cooling my heels. Maybe I'll spend it listening to the Happy Mondays.
shellylh Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Started seasoning my 2nd carbon steel pan (after failing with my first). Not perfect but not nearly as bad as the first. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Are you kidding? That looks well nigh perfect. 1
shellylh Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yep, I used it for the first time and after flipping the egg (I used butter), it stuck a bit. I guess I am going to have to use lots of butter/oil in the beginning. How long until it is "stable"? Also, WTF is with this weather??? We are on our Spring Break (one week later than usual even) and I woke up to 26 degrees this morning. I am sure that is quite balmy for the folks north of here, but I live in Houston and it's March! Guess I won't be headed to the beach this week...
justin Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Went to fedex, returned home with my car still full of boxes. Why? Because this shut down everything #thesouth Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1
jvlgato Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 (edited) Nice pan , Shelly! I still really like mine. Sucks, Justin. I called in an insurance claim on the policy of the lady who backed into my car in the parking lot this weekend. Edited March 3, 2014 by jvlgato 1
agile_one Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Ouch! That sucks, too, John. Where are the Monee's finest when you really need them? 1
Dusty Chalk Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeezh, John. Went to fedex, returned home with my car still full of boxes. Why? Because this shut down everything #thesouth Lollers, you got a lot less than we did up North o' y'all.
justin Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 the dooms day maps had us in the bullseye with 15-21", while local news was forecasting 6-12". we got like 3-4".
justin Posted March 3, 2014 Report Posted March 3, 2014 Yeezh, John. Lollers, you got a lot less than we did up North o' y'all. you still live south of the mason-dixon, southerner.
grawk Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Northern Virginia is filled with damn Yankees and therefore isn't in the south. 3
justin Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 please add Stockton, CA to the southern map, i just talked to a guy there today and pretty sure he would qualify 1
jvlgato Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Ouch! That sucks, too, John. Where are the Monee's finest when you really need them? Ha. Exactly. Too busy lecturing innocent Chicagoans about slow rolling through stop signs.
n_maher Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Sucks, John. Here's to hoping her insurance doesn't give you any shit about the repairs.
Augsburger Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Sucks, John. Here's to hoping her insurance doesn't give you any shit about the repairs. /\ /\ /\ /\ This!
skullguise Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 ^^^ That. Good luck, sorry you have to even go through the hassle......
Dusty Chalk Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 you still live south of the mason-dixon, southerner. Oh, I wasn't referencing (ancient) politics, I was just talking relative to the Southern edge of the storm roll-through. I think I was above, you were below. I think.
jvlgato Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Thanks for the support, everyone! So far, so good. The other driver has State Farm, and so do I. I have a police report and pictures. Should be pretty obvious what happened. My agent said to file a claim directly against her policy. I spoke to the insurance company yesterday and again today to confirm my version of the story. They're still waiting to hear back from the other party. She actually was a nice 19 year old girl with her little sister. At the time of the accident, she came right out and said she was so sorry, then called her Dad to ask what to do. Dad said to file a police report, and I agreed. So hopefully it'll be no more than a nuisance.
postjack Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 Northern Virginia is filled with damn Yankees and therefore isn't in the south. seriously. northern VA might as well be Wisconsin.

Aimless1 Posted March 4, 2014 Report Posted March 4, 2014 You should be fine John. That said, in my area State Farm is the second worse company to deal with on a claim that I've run into for this kind of situation.
