agile_one Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Yup, what everyone else has already said, Shelly. Great news, and I'm sure well deserved.
VPI Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 Paid my taxes. That was really just a lot of fucking fun. When I saw what I had to pay I contemplated leaving the Country.

n_maher Posted April 12, 2013 Report Posted April 12, 2013 You clearly need more business related expenses, Justin. Like, I dunno, maybe a Lambo or two?
Salt Peanuts Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Went to work, came home, and packed for family trip.
shellylh Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 (edited) Second student successfully defended her PhD thesis today (the other one defended last week)!!! Now I just need to finish reading both of their theses this weekend... and do my taxes. When I saw what I had to pay I contemplated leaving the Country. I will gladly switch incomes with you so you don't have to pay as much taxes Jeff. Edited April 13, 2013 by shellylh 2
grawk Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 We'll compromise. Shelly will take the taxes, and I'll take the income.

Wmcmanus Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 When I saw what I had to pay I contemplated leaving the Country. It doesn't matter where you go, they'll find you!
Voltron Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 It doesn't matter where you go, they'll find you! Dammit, Wayne, now what will I do for a fallback plan?!
Wmcmanus Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 Taxes are done. Took about 20 minutes. It's pretty simple these days:
aardvark baguette Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 don't forget the expatriate tax lol
The Monkey Posted April 13, 2013 Report Posted April 13, 2013 It's true; it is pretty simple now, especially if you don't have any esoteric investments. I still have my accountant do mine just in case I go back to the government so that I have nice clean returns. But it's probably an unnecessary expense.
