Wmcmanus Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 ...and a few others with whom I work closely will be getting promoted, and I will not, which will be just another sign. Just keep your eyes open for opportunities, Dinny. Good things are bound to happen at the right time and place, which in turn will get you energized again.
mrarroyo Posted February 19, 2011 Report Posted February 19, 2011 Woke up at 3:00am and was not able to go back to sleep till about 6:00am so I listened to some music and surfed the net. The 4 cylinder in the Altima is quite peppy, enjoy it.
mypasswordis Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 (edited) Built this simple circuit to help out a group in need today: Yes, yes I am using the Placid BP to bias the opamps. However I'm trying to resolve what I'm sure is a bone-headed mistake of mine. I have the inputs at close enough to 0V, gain ~1, and thus the output close enough to 0 (0.001V) but somehow the half wave rectifier (edit: right off the first opamp's output) is measuring 7.3V (before it discharges into the multimeter). What am I doing wrong? The second opamp is a ghetto opamp comparator btw. Edited February 20, 2011 by mypasswordis
boomana Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 Went to spin class again this morning. Today was all sprints, seating and standing. My fat thighs actually got in the way. On an unrelated note, in an effort to control the amount of fur on my bed, I bought my cat a soft cat bed yesterday, and put it at the end of my bed, which is where he likes to sleep when he's not on my pillow and on my head. He quite likes it, but can't seem to figure out that his body should go in it. He's spent at least a couple hours smelling and kneading it, and now I am watching him sleeping, wrapped around it on the outside. Stupid, happy kitty.
Absorbine_Sr Posted February 20, 2011 Report Posted February 20, 2011 if only we could all be so lucky. Amen to that. Took Mom to the emergency room today. Back pain so severe she could not get out of bed. Turns out she's been constipated since Tuesday and it finally took it's toll. I always thought she was full of shit.
laxx Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Had brunch with my family for my nieces' birthday. Then went rock climbing, which eventually became bouldering after 15 mins of climbing, lol. Ate at Chickens Gone Wild, and now home. Tried to hit the gym after eating, but they close at 6 today. =T

Absorbine_Sr Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 No pun intended? Seriously, that sucks and is scary. Things are better for her today. The chemicals prescribed at the ER have, um, resolved the issue.

Aura Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Last night, started case analysis around 8, went to bed at 11. Woke up this morning at 3:30, worked on analysis and finished up by 7:15. Turning it in, in the next 20 minutes.

jvlgato Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Mike, sorry about your Mom. Glad she's feeling better! Bryan, Good luck with your case analysis! In my field, analysis means something entirely different!
Voltron Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 The first two sound good, in theory, but that last part kinda wrecks it, Stretch. A nice trip stateside is just the thing for South African ennui, so the Great American Beer Fest in Colorado in the Fall sounds like the perfect cure! In the meantime, post more here and we'll all be happier.
Dusty Chalk Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 You know, there is such a thing as having it too good. I think you need a hobby. Besides golf.
