Dreadhead Posted February 13, 2011 Report Posted February 13, 2011 (edited) Took my beagle Rugby on a 3 hour 8 mile walk which was about the most intense thing I can do with this cold. I then registered for my area's first bike race of the year at which I will get hammered like cheerleader on prom night Edited February 13, 2011 by Dreadhead Quote
luvdunhill Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Flying to San Francisco. MOA3 is this week, right? Quote
Aura Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Phone interview with Sonoma Partners @ 11:30. Economics test @ 2:00. Quote
Dreadhead Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 good luck with the interview! Quote
grawk Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Applied for a job as Assistant VP for a global financial services company in the NYC metro... Quote
raffy Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Good Luck on the job application Dan! Ordered flowers for a little lady I'm quite fond of and I'm having it delivered at her work. Haven't really sent anyone flowers in a long long time so I'm quite anxious to see how this works for me Quote
mypasswordis Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Good luck Bryan, Dan, Raphael, and everyone else! Quote
The Monkey Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Applied for a job as Assistant VP for a global financial services company in the NYC metro... Right on. Quote
grawk Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Turns out it's BofA in Jersey City. They're a little low on salary, but with a decent bonus. I went ahead and had them submit me, but we'll see. A pay cut to move to Jersey City to work for BofA isn't the most thrilling thing ever Quote
grawk Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Ok, turns out it's not BofA, it's SMBC. We'll see how it goes. Quote

grawk Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 My understanding is a lot of banks make almost everyone AVP. SMBC is a japanese bank, and they're also fairly well known for not having the best pay scale. But, 20-30% bonus and 4 weeks vacation. I'd probably negotiate for more vacation, too. Quote
guzziguy Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Are you sure that it isn't "Assistant to the VP"? Quote
Aura Posted February 14, 2011 Report Posted February 14, 2011 Thanks everyone. Interview was very "meh" and much more of a screening than anything else. HR rep had no energy or motivation, which annoyed me. Exam went far better than expected considering I spent all my time this morning preparing for the "interview". Quote
The Monkey Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Yesterday went to doctor because I was concerned I was having another diverticulits flare up or possible appendicitis. All negative thank goodness. But apparently I pinched a nerve and my right abdomen, side, back are all annoyingly painful. Doc prescribed voltaren (super advil). We'll see how that works. Could have been worse. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Yeezh. Feel better, Dinny. Quote
HeadphoneAddict Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Hope you feel better soon, but it seems like a chiropractor might be a better choice for this kind of thing. As a side note, doesn't "Voltaren" sound a bit like that fortune telling machine from the movie "Big"? Quote
Beefy Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Voltaren is a great anti-inflammatory, and available over the counter in Australia and Canada. I can't believe you poor saps need a prescription for it...... Quote
guzziguy Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Voltaren = DOTPR Defender of the Pain Receptors Quote
Absorbine_Sr Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Went to the Chicago Auto Show. Looking for nothing in particular but we were pretty taken with the Caddy CTS V wagon, Volvo S60 w/ 300 hp and the Mini Clubman. Most likely from a practical standpoint is the Clubman. And we need a practical car next. But not boring. Quote
grawk Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 If budget allows, the car that replaces my SX4 will probably be a mini countryman. Quote
The Monkey Posted February 16, 2011 Report Posted February 16, 2011 Voltaren seems to be working...slowly. Wish there was a little sumpthin' else in it. Quote
