MexicanDragon Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 "Our friend Arnold Kim of MacRumors has verified that the iPhone 4 contains 512 MB of RAM, up from 256 MB in the current iPhone 3GS and the iPad. It turns out that Apple mentioned this during a session with developers at last week’s Worldwide Developers Conference. The session (#147) is downloadable for free for registered Apple developers. 512 MB of RAM would explain why the new iMovie app only works on the iPhone 4. It would also suggest that multitasking (coming with iOS 4) and general usability will be much smoother on an iPhone 4 compared to Apple’s other mobile offerings." http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/06/iphone-4-ram/ I'm with Shelly, the iPad 1 is painfully slow. **BRENT**
MexicanDragon Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 If it had a reasonable amount of RAM, it'd still be great, but I have so much stuff crash it's ridiculous. It's great for Netflix, though. It typically crashes about 1 out of 3 loadings of a page on Slower Forum, though. **BRENT**
shellylh Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) My main complaint is the checkboard scrolling with Safari. Is that any better on the ipad2. Maybe I need to look into a new browser. Edit: Not sure when I last updated the ipad, maybe I should check for an update. Edited January 16, 2012 by shellylh
MexicanDragon Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Thanks to Martin Luther King, Jr., (and not having to work tomorrow), I was able to stay up long enough to watch all of Season 2 of 30 Rock today. **BRENT**
swt61 Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 If you don't put thumbtacks on your snooze button you just may.
jvlgato Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 I want an ipad 3. Mine is too slow. X2
mrarroyo Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 Day off, so the wife's car was washed, clay bar to remove the "road nasties", light polishing compound used, and finally waxed. Sure looks purty! (the car that is)

Sure looks purty! (the car that is) Good deal Miguel! Did you use a random orbiter to polish or did you just apply by hand?
Salt Peanuts Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 We've a day off, so we're having fun at Boston Children's Museum. It appears many parents had the same exact idea and we had to wait out in cold for good while before we were able to get in. At least we got in for free.
mrarroyo Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 (edited) Good deal Miguel! Did you use a random orbiter to polish or did you just apply by hand? Hi Raffy, I did the easy way … had it done by a local hand carwash place about 1 mile from my apartment. Yes I was lazy but swmbo is happy. Edit: The removal of the polish and then later the wax were done by hand. Edited January 16, 2012 by mrarroyo
n_maher Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Brought the bookcase in from the shop and took a proper picture althought the lighting makes it look much more orange than it is (or is that just my display?).
shellylh Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Nice Nate! Just changed yet a few more passwords to sites that I don't really care about. Damn Zappos. Wish I could just delete almost all previous online accounts with a single button.
cetoole Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Nate, that shelf looks great. Hell, I am shopping for a couple shelves right now, and that is exactly what I would want. Group buy?
shellylh Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Tried to finish my work for the long weekend but internet is out... service interruption that is supposed to last 2 hours. I hate Comcast. I hate typing on phones.
Wmcmanus Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 Great work, Nate. Soon it will be smeared with lipstick and nail polish, but you'll forgive her.

Maybe I need to look into a new browser. Edit: Not sure when I last updated the ipad, maybe I should check for an update. I don't see checkerboard scrolling on my iPad1 with either Safari or Perfect Web Browser. But both crash often, and there's a fair amount of pauses while loading. Also, looking through the calendar and contact list has a lot of pauses.
blessingx Posted January 17, 2012 Report Posted January 17, 2012 iPad 1 users noticing increasingly video not rendering? For all the talk of Androids task killer apps, it's starting to be necessary on iOS to load video.
morphsci Posted January 19, 2012 Author Report Posted January 19, 2012 Played racquetball for the first time in over three years. I did not realize it could hurt to sit or smile.
Salt Peanuts Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Just finished signing all the papers for our refinancing. So happy it's finally done.
