Voltron Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Only slightly better John. Congrat Haj! Waiting to board a flight Puerto Vallarta for a wedding. Sounds good but I only learned last night that the "resort" is a "yoga retreat and spa" that doesn't serve red meat. Luckily they serve booze or I'd be reconsidering right now. Quote
Absorbine_Sr Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Al without red meat = surly DOTU. Quote
grawk Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Al's a lawyer, sharks can always find meat to eat. Quote

blessingx Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 (edited) Like YogaChick's blog mantra... I spend most of my time trying to find a balance between vino and vinyasa. Have fun Al. Avoid shingles. Edited January 13, 2012 by blessingx Quote
jvlgato Posted January 13, 2012 Report Posted January 13, 2012 Only slightly better John. I guess I have commitment issues ... if only I knew a good shrink. Quote

I'd be tempted to buy a Ribeye at the local market, and just walk into the kitchen and start cooking it. Quote
NightWoundsTime Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Depending on the date?! Dates ASAP. It probably won't happen but I need a fucking vacation. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Finally got off my lazy ass and started rowing again. The rowing machine thoroughly kicked my ass. Quote
MexicanDragon Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 I went to pick up a "woo hoo, it's payday!" bottle of Rye (Looked for Willett, wound up with Sazerac), and stumbled upon a scotch tasting. **BRENT** Quote
skullguise Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) I know that pain Haj. I was doing some great combinations of rowing and free weights on alternate days when I was in my best shape. Then, "life" took over and I stopped cold. Months later, tried to pick it back up and I was exhausted at almost 1/10th the time I used to be. I just got back from our Synagogue, son Andrew participated in the Friday night service in anticipation of his Bar-Mitzvah tomorrow. Did a GREAT job tonight! And thanks to my amazing wife, planner extraiordinnaire, we are in great shape for tomorrow night's service. Actually pretty calm, I think Andrew will do very well. Voltron Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Al, while meditating, think of this........... Now THAT is zen! I like the way you think Steve, and Dan knows me too well because I was scoping it out on the way here. And Steve, there are so many gay men attending this wedding! You type even. Pics tomorrow. shellylh Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 (edited) It's been over 8 weeks since my surgery now. The PT had me get on the elliptic machine today for the first time. Unfortunately, shortly after starting, I felt some pain and pinching in my hip. That made me kinda sad since I have been doing really well lately and I thought the elliptic machine would be really easy. I certainly won't be back on the rowing machine for quite a while. Epileptic machines are stupid... you don't need 'em. Ellipses are for writing... not awkwardly walking/running/gliding. Hang in there, chica. **BRENT** Quote
shellylh Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Well, it is part of the PT program so I have to use them at least in the short term. I am hoping to get the OK for swimming when I see the doc next week. Quote

Woah - I've been off this thread for too long. I'd no idea you'd been under the knife - so the very best with your recovery. PT's are a real PITA though aren't they? They show absolutely no mercy - but boy do they get results. I had my right knee worked on six years ago - and yesterday I ran 15 off-road trail miles. Hang on in there. Quote
dsavitsk Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Hey, I grew up at Purdue -- dad was a prof there. Home of McCord Candies -- try the olive and nut sandwich. I think I would fly through Chicago so cocktail opportunity awaits. Indianapolis airport is a lot closer, but has the downside of not being in Chicago Quote
jvlgato Posted January 14, 2012 Report Posted January 14, 2012 Best of luck to him. It all sounds very cool! x2. Bar Mitzvah parties are the best! Although keeping those yarmulkas on an Asian head is tough. And I just won't use a bobby pin! Quote
