cetoole Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) Lots of skating with friends recently. Here is a clip from slide practice Saturday. And Brent's favorite capture. He missed me crashing into a thorn bush. Edited January 2, 2018 by cetoole 6

n_maher Posted January 2, 2018 Report Posted January 2, 2018 Am I the only one who watched that and imagined Colin screaming, "NOT MY SKINNY JEANS, PLEASE, NOT THE JEANS!" 4 2

Nah. This pair is now dedicated to skating, and I'm getting a sort of perverse pleasure out of slowly destroying them. Stretch cordura ftw, the stitching is blowing out faster than the fabric. I tore one of the rear pockets halfway off during this session. 6 hours ago, swt61 said: Please, please, please tell us you have footage of Brent's attempt!!!! Sadly no. swt61 Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 He is on the West Coast now! How did we let this happen?
Hopstretch Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Yup, snapped awake in the middle of the night and didn't know why. A few seconds later, the shaking started. Believe the effect is due to the p-waves preceding the quake? Anyway, weird, and please notice that Brent had cleverly flown out beforehand to maintain plausible deniability. 3
guzziguy Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 I woke up about that time. Maybe it was because of the earthquake though I doubt we felt it much, if at all, this far south.
Voltron Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Immigrants! Real Californians sleep right through such a little earthquake. 5 1

I went to bed super early thinking I'd be fresh in the morning only to be left wide awake at 2:30AM after the quake woke me up.
Augsburger Posted January 4, 2018 Report Posted January 4, 2018 Tuesday night Mary said over dinner that we are having earthquake weather and that we are due for one...

I guess real Alaskans do too, as I didn't feel a thing. 1 2

Hopstretch Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 Took delivery of the last of our orphan household goods, which have been sitting in a storage locker in Westborough, MA since 2010. OMG so much random and forgotten audio shit. At least I know someone local who might take the Talking Heads LPs. 6 2
Voltron Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 I actually sold a phono stage today! It begins... 4
luvdunhill Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 I actually sold a phono stage today! It begins...Where is the real Al and what did you do with his Unnecessarily Complex 300B? 1
Voltron Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 JP asked me about a different phono stage that I actually use so I offered to sell him the Eddie Current Transcription amp sitting in a cupboard the last few years. It's a start. Oh, and I still use the Millett amp in my main system. 8

And having seen Al's closet, everyone's wallet should be very, very afraid. 3 1
swt61 Posted January 6, 2018 Report Posted January 6, 2018 It's the first time I've ever wanted to go back in the closet! 3 1 4

swt61 Posted January 12, 2018 Report Posted January 12, 2018 Managing my first project for the new company. It's a small bathroom remodel. A 6' x 8' room and the floor and ceiling were out of level more than 3" in that 8'. Got them both level and am ready for the tile guy tomorrow morning. It still feels a bit strange, as before I was the carpenter, sheetrocker, tile guy etc... I kind of like this delegating thing. 16 1
