Dusty Chalk Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 Hey, that's music notation, innit? I never noticed that one of my favourite expletives was comprised of the letters for pianissimo and forte. 1
mypasswordis Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 I got it from here but it certainly looks similar enough. Imagine doing a poco fortississimo in real life, though

swt61 Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 They played some passages pretty loud! 11 hours ago, mypasswordis said: I got it from here but it certainly looks similar enough. Imagine doing a poco fortississimo in real life, though 1 1
crappyjones123 Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 Just came home to a surprisingly happy and grateful pair of teenagers. Got the girls to come down to the car under the guise of helping us with groceries. Got them an iMac and an LG E6 for the living room. Was half expecting them to roll their eyes and go back to their phones but they actually seem excited and are asking for help with setting the stuff up. I feel happy. And satisfied. 1
Sechtdamon Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 I did some assembling by myself. Ikea is wrong: And shitty gamer chair (actually it is quite comfortable): 5
crappyjones123 Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 The LG E6 purchase did not go as planned. While a great deal, it was on a floor model and when we brought it home, it had some really nasty burn in/image retention. Went back to Best Buy and spoke with the manager who very kindly offered a heavy discount on a new in box B7. Just set it up and it is quite nice Happy again. 3

An hour of random pattern would probably have cleared up the image retention, but I believe the B7 is an upgrade, so fist-bump. Edited August 7, 2017 by EdipisReks1
crappyjones123 Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 I ran the random pattern over night to no betterment. The tv was run on loop for 5600 hours on the floor. The image was pretty well "retained." It was bad enough that the manager and the floor sales guy both apologized for not catching it before the sale.
crappyjones123 Posted August 7, 2017 Report Posted August 7, 2017 5600 hours/16 hours per day ~ 350 days. The E6 came out around this time last year so it was likely in that spot on their wall since then.

Hopstretch Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 Went out to Guerneville for lunch and a sedate paddle on the Russian River. It was the last day of "Lazy Bear Week" and there were still plenty of strapping, hirsute gentlemen in evidence and drinking bellinis at the Big Bottom Market. (Though I assume many of them are actually big tops.) 1
EdipisReks1 Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 Didn't get the job. I was brought in last week for a first in-person interview, and they hired somebody yesterday, so I'd say that they already had somebody chosen, and were just wasting everybody's (theirs and mine) time due to organizational rules. This would have been an exceptional fit, and I honestly thought the phone call was going to be setting up an interview for the next round. 4
EdipisReks1 Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 I'm pretty disappointed, but it is what it is.
skullguise Posted August 8, 2017 Report Posted August 8, 2017 You probably nailed it Jacob. If they chose someone that quickly, they likely had them in mind already. Sorry to hear it, though!

n_maher Posted August 9, 2017 Report Posted August 9, 2017 Shit, Jacob, disappointment is understandable.
morphsci Posted August 9, 2017 Author Report Posted August 9, 2017 ^^^ This. Hang in there dude, it will just be that much sweeter when you land the perfect job.
