Torpedo Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Sorry Chris, that's really painful. I wish you get well soon, and that the perforation heals quickly.
Craig Sawyers Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Bloody hell - that sounds dreadful Chris. Fingers crossed it heals OK; what did the doc say?
acidbasement Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Nasty. I perforated my eardrum 5 years ago. I'm not sure if I ever got back to full hearing, but it's close enough that it doesn't bug me unless I really pay attention to it. Hope it heals quickly.
Dreadhead Posted July 14, 2016 Report Posted July 14, 2016 Thanks everyone. I got to the doctor a bit ago and the hole is small. Should be back to normal in 2 weeks or so. Fingers crossed. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk 2
morphsci Posted July 14, 2016 Author Report Posted July 14, 2016 That sucks Chris. Get better quickly.
CarlSeibert Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 That sucks Chris. Get better quickly. This
Dusty Chalk Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 Heal well, heal without complications, heal completely -- ... are my wishes.

morphsci Posted July 16, 2016 Author Report Posted July 16, 2016 Finally caught the Anolis that was living in our house since we moved in. He/She seemed happy to be outside at a more reptile friendly temperature. 3
Voltron Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Yesterday I played with Greg's favorite cornhole. Wait...that came out wrong. Funny that the last time I played cornhole was just a couple dozen miles away at The Livery on the Michigan Brew Tour. 3
grawk Posted July 16, 2016 Report Posted July 16, 2016 Took Simone out driving in my manual beetle today. Spent about 30 minutes. She's starting to get the hang of it... 9
Knuckledragger Posted August 4, 2016 Report Posted August 4, 2016 Fair waring. I only post in this thread to bitch. This post will be a challenge to make because my MBP's trackpad is freaking the FUCK out right now. I've disabled all the gesture functions and it's still spazzing like mad. My weed whacker would not start yesterday, in spite of me taking it in for maintenance scant months ago. I managed to tear the skin off my right index finger pretty well, which makes doing pretty much everything hurt. What I have to do is what's in this video, after first removing the batter (which is NOT covered in it). 1
Mister X Posted August 9, 2016 Report Posted August 9, 2016 2 Stroke weed eater? I am hoping a carb rebuild is the solution for the broken trimmer a neighbor brought over (the metering valve is toast) Also needed a new gas line and snaking that into the tank is going to be a pain... 1
Mister X Posted August 10, 2016 Report Posted August 10, 2016 I should prolly make a real sign. Zucchini once this week was enough.... 2
n_maher Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Nice Marshall. I switch to an electric trimmer after my gasser went tits up after just 4 years. I have a feeling it had similar issues to what you're trying to solve and I didn't have the patience or time to try to disassemble the whole mess. 2
Mister X Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 My understanding is ethanol in pump gas can degrade the rubber bits inside a 2 stroke carburetor in only a couple years if the tool is stored with fuel in it. Home Depot and the like sell premixed fuel that does not contain ethanol but $5 a quart is silly. Anyhow... A replacement carb for this trimmer was $18 on eBay, the rebuild kit was $6. I should have ordered a new carb. Will know better next time.
Dreadhead Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Ethanol treatment is worth every penny and should be used every single time. Sta-Bil has been good for me.
Mister X Posted August 11, 2016 Report Posted August 11, 2016 Sounded like a plan to add it to the gas. Started on the first pull. Easy $60. 1
aardvark baguette Posted August 12, 2016 Report Posted August 12, 2016 Looks like I'm giving my 2 weeks notice next week. Finally heard back from the other group. I just have to pass some background check formality. 11
