TMoney Posted December 27, 2015 Report Posted December 27, 2015 Sitting in the airport on my way to Christchurch after spending 5 days in Queenstown. We are so far south here it doesn't get dark till 11pm and the sun is right back up at 4:30 in the morning. Right hand drive cars are an abomination. Some quick highlights: Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk 15

TMoney Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Seeing a dog heard sheep may have been the highlight of my trip. It's hilarious. Also some Apple Watch screenshots to show the ridiculous length of the days here. Heading out to the bay of islands for a few more nights before heading home over the weekend. MexicanDragon Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Hey, where are you exactly? What's the place called? My manager owns a sheep farm in New Zealand. Would be wild if it were the same one. **BRENT**
TMoney Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 We were staying at a place called the Wilderness Lodge near Aurthur's Pass about two hours out of Christchurch.
ironbut Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 Awesome pics mate! Is there still earthquake damage visible in Christchurch? A friend of mine works for Radio New Zealand and just when they finished building a new dream facility, wham! It all went down. That's a scary looking couple of mugs your hanging with Mike. Don't let them influence you into doing something bad. 1
TMoney Posted December 29, 2015 Report Posted December 29, 2015 (edited) They've cleaned up very well since the earthquakes, but everyone still has very vivid memories. Edited December 29, 2015 by TMoney

HeadphoneAddict Posted January 1, 2016 Report Posted January 1, 2016 Went to Tobacco Road Sports Bar in Durham NC for dinner to celebrate new years eve.

I had the Jambalaya which was excellent, nice and spicy and tangy with fresh shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage, in a nice large portion. The guacamole was also very good, although a little too chunky in places. My wife had the greek lemon chicken, and I had a taste, but vs my dish it seemed a little bland.
aardvark baguette Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 I just wasted several hours quintuple encrypting a file to load to my email. Over the size limit. $$%$#@$@!
ironbut Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 Upload it to Dropbox/Copy/GoogleDrive or whatever your flavor. Then send the link.
aardvark baguette Posted January 14, 2016 Report Posted January 14, 2016 That's what I ended up doing. But would have preferred not to use Dropbox. Then again if this isn't safe, there's nothing else I can do.
crappyjones123 Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Julie got two tickets from work to a garth Brooks concert. Never heard country music before but she is a big fan so I tagged along. So far it's not too loud. But I doubt it will be this volume for much longer. I don't know where anyone else in the arena is though. Everyone is camouflaged quite well... 1
crappyjones123 Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Wasn't my cup of tea. Actually liked the opening act more - could hear her words. Unless you knew the words to the songs already, Garth is near incomprehensible. Julie danced the entire time so I am happy she had a good time. I had the ety ear plugs. Purchased them right before the Ben Howard show last year and man were they a life saver. We were in the highest row possible perpendicular to the stage so none of the speaker arrays were pointed directly at us. It was loud. But given the location and the ear plugs, it was still not as loud as the Ben Howard show at the Filmore (a lot more intimate) which was a little too loud. All in all, I didn't walk out with a headache or any pain in my ears so am very pleased with how well the ear plugs performed. Did pull them out during the concert once and realized how freaking loud it was without them. No signs of tinnitus yet. Hopefully it doesn't crop up once all the ambient noise goes away for the night. Going to try to get Dave Matthews tickets for the next live show. Only seen 2 concerts so far but I think Dave live would be something both of us would enjoy a lot more. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 Yup, hearing is too fragile to get destroyed by meh music.
HeadphoneAddict Posted January 16, 2016 Report Posted January 16, 2016 We saw Jack Johnson at the Red Rocks Amphitheater about a couple of summer's ago, and sat in the top row handicapped seating and it never got too loud. He's great live in concert too. I felt bad for all the people that rushed through the gates to sit right in front of the speakers. 1

grawk Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 sorry to hear that, I liked those a lot. The studio got lucky. I hope you raked them over the coals for price. If you want the amp and nate cicadas back, I've still got them. 2
Grahame Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Hung a mirror for SHMBO, with reasonable degree of success.

Just out of curiosity -- which studio? They obviously have good taste... Also, did you make them come out and get them themselves (I hope)? Me: I paid US$2.179/gallon for gas today. Super (93 octane).
CD44hi Posted January 17, 2016 Report Posted January 17, 2016 Sorry to hear about the speakers Chris. Here's to new ones, better ones, in your future once things improve. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
