Voltron Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I'm glad you had a good Tahoe experience. I spent all time there every summer of you youth and love it in summer better than winter.
TMoney Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 I'm glad you had a good Tahoe experience. I spent all time there every summer of you youth and love it in summer better than winter. Blasphemy! Tahoe in the winter is as fun and as beautiful as anywhere else in California! I hope for more reasons than one that we in California have a VERY wet fall/winter this year. The skiing resorts have been badly hurt by the drought just like everybody else. 1
Salt Peanuts Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Met with another contractor about finishing our basement. This process is just getting depressing.
Grahame Posted May 11, 2015 Report Posted May 11, 2015 Met with another contractor about finishing our basement. This process is just getting depressing. ... and you think you've got problems (* warning may cause basement envy *)
skullguise Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Were you able to reach my guy, Haj? If so, what was result? I can also ask around, my wife belongs to a Facebook Mom's Group that does this type of stuff all the time.
Salt Peanuts Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Unfortunately, the guy you recommended has a ton of work lined up right now.
Dreadhead Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Good luck Haj. I know how you feel. It took a few rounds but we finally found a contractor we like who is honest, does good work, repairs what we ask him to and does pretty much everything. He's not the quickest communicator but the plusses far outweigh the minuses. Our garage, driveway expansion and landscaping are moving along nicely.
VPI Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 Went to 4 different Post Offices, technically one used to be a post office but is now a construction site but USPS was too incompetent to update their system, trying to track down an Amazon package. Never found it so they will try to deliver it again to my place of business at 8PM. When did Amazon start using these assholes for Prime deliveries? 1
naamanf Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I think it happened a couple months ago, I think USPS was desperate for business and gave them a great deal. The one plus is you can get certain things delivered on Sunday now.
VPI Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I am not impressed. Colin, kick your Amazon overlords in the nuts for me next time you see them.
MexicanDragon Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I get stuff I order Friday night on Sunday morning. It's brilliant. **BRENT**
VPI Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 You are wrong. Colin, kick Brent in the nuts next time you see him. 7
Absorbine_Sr Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I get stuff I order Friday night on Sunday morning. It's brilliant. **BRENT** He is right. So do I.
luvdunhill Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 I haven't gotten 2 day prime service in over a year.
Salt Peanuts Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 (edited) I'm not impressed with USPS/Amazon thing either. IIRC, they've only delivered on Sat/Sun once and rest of the orders didn't get in until Monday or Tuesday (whey they said the orders would be in on weekend). Good luck Haj. Yeah, trying to find couple of more to call now. We had one place that we liked/trusted, but their estimate was much higher than we'd anticipated (we knew it was going to be high, but the estimate went well beyond it). VPI Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 The postal service fucks delivered me a giant box of Nutella with a few other items in the goo.
skullguise Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 SOB......Amazon will stand behind it, but kind of a PITA! Maybe Amazon will learn from going with USPS and all the complaints and shipping damage losses they're likely to have now....
grawk Posted May 12, 2015 Report Posted May 12, 2015 USPS isn't any worse than anyone else when it comes to shipping damage. Amazon gambles with their shipping costs by using the least packing material possible, and assumes that it will generally work out. 1

Salt Peanuts Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Nutella is awesome. I'm going to eat some now.
Voltron Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 Shit, piss and corruption, Jeff. Nate said it all.
VPI Posted May 13, 2015 Report Posted May 13, 2015 After cleaning 5 pounds of Nutella off of everything, everything but the obvious was salvaged, and Amazon is sending the entire package out again for delivery tomorrow so our Smoothie bar ends up with almost double of everything.
