aardvark baguette Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) go caving. i have permanent claustrophobia from doing that as a kid. real caving, not the tourist attractions. Edited March 24, 2015 by aardvark baguette
shellylh Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Congrats Peter and family. _____________________ Had my first MRI (shoulder). Never been claustrophobic or more than irritated by pounding techno in my head, but that was amusingly unpleasant. It's really not fun if you are claustrophobic (I know). Hope it's nothing too bad, shoulder problems are no fun.
shellylh Posted March 24, 2015 Report Posted March 24, 2015 Picked up and set up the new TV. 60 inches is a healthy upgrade over 42! I haven't done any calibration yet, but it looks great straight out of the box. The old Panasonic had a very nice picture, but this is much better. 6 years of technological improvement. This should hold me until OLED really goes mainstream. Nice, enjoy!
Dusty Chalk Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Woke up to a bunch of spurious international charges on my credit card via Google. I'm on the phone now with Capital One and Google. Aside: the Capital One representative is on hold with me, listening to the Google wait music. Which isn't as bad as Capital One's wait music, but still...some payback. EDIT: Now I feel bad -- the Capital One rep was really nice, the person at Google wallet spent way too much time talking, and not enough time finding anything -- I'm not even sure I was talking to the right person. They couldn't find any transactions! How is that possible? I just got this card, and I'm already closing it.
aardvark baguette Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 I can't believe people are going to pay bills through gmail soon. Me: Created 4,000 bitcoin addresses this morning. Took longer than I expected.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Yup, one of the transactions said, "Google* Viacom". I just sent Google a scathing email: No, I'm not happy, but I'll give you a chance to fix it before I complain. Google -- as an authorized credit card merchant -- should have been able to find the corresponding transactions. Period. I had to shut the card down because you couldn't. I don't want to know about your ridiculous bureaucracy and the difference between Google Wallet and Google Play or Google store or whatever else is going on there. You have a user who is fraudulently using my credit card, I would think you'd want to know that and shut them down, as expeditiously as possible.
CarlSeibert Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 You'd think. I just had a hassle with B&H. They sold a bundle that doesn't exist. Cost them money to make good on it. (And then ups imprisoned and tortured the overnight replacement package. Never, ever use ups for anything important!) I told B&H that they needed to take down the phantom sku. A week later, it's still up. WTF. I put a review on out that basically says "don't buy this 'cause out didn't exist" most folks would be embarrassed...... 1
skullguise Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Holy fuck, that sucks Dusty, just ridiculous! I have to say, I've had pretty good luck with my credit card and Chase's Customer Service. 1
bozebuttons Posted March 26, 2015 Report Posted March 26, 2015 Going to the NY Islander vs La Kings Game tonight! 1
Dusty Chalk Posted March 27, 2015 Report Posted March 27, 2015 On both days, it was the day after I purchased a Musician's Friend Stupid Deal of the Day -- coincidence? Anyone else shop at Musician's Friend?

swt61 Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 ^ Dear God, what is that on the side table, and why did you allow it in your home?
cetoole Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 Considering the Illinois gang, I'm gonna guess a bottle of vodka for sneaking into places.
Grand Enigma Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 Seriously, the plastic is toxic and will kill you, so might its contents.
kugino Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 mother in law left after a 12 day visit. I could care less what I did today. it is now a great day. 1
swt61 Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 I don't know who you are, but that is an acceptable first post in my book. 3
Grand Enigma Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 Who doesn't like a day of not being judged for everything you do.
Emooze Posted March 28, 2015 Report Posted March 28, 2015 Family left a few hours ago. Got my Masters Thursday night, shook the SECAF's hand and got rather drunk that night. Movers come on Monday. 5
