Dusty Chalk
I can't imagine what I could save to make it worth my time. I'd rather pay more than go through that. I mean, unless it was Pliny and I was with friends.
Augsburger
Hippies and hipsters spoil everything. Where are the Zombies when you need them?
tyrion
That sucks Jeff. I hope you got some good stuff. After 25 years, I was finally able to move my music room into my daughter's room.
raffy
Thanks for setting up my new bedroom, Mike! Jeff, was it hippies or hipster doucihbags who hoarded the sale?

crappyjones123
Very nice Mike. What speakers are those?
Dusty Chalk
They look like Vandersteens from the wrinkle, but I suppose there could be other speakers that have curtains. I like hippies, but I wouldn't want that many of them in front of me in line. Do the REIs in Texas sell ammo?
Dusty Chalk
Oh, and I think I broke my freakin' toe. It's all black & blue after stubbing it -- that means it's broken, right? It doesn't hurt that much.
TMoney
Really jet-lagged after a 24+ hour travel day to get home from Tel Aviv yesterday. What a great trip though. Israel is an awesome place to visit. Can't wait to see what exciting stuff gets shown off at CES. Sennheiser, don't let us down!

Dusty Chalk
Yeah, I think I just bruised my toe, but I definitely gave myself food poisoning yesterday, because I was up all night with an upset stomach and had to stay home today. So the moral of the story is, ramen can go bad!
shellylh
I wouldn't have guessed that ramen could go back, I supposed there is oil in it though.
Dusty Chalk
It had this weird toxic chemical smell, and it didn't go away when cooking or ...uh...ingesting
cetoole
Stay away from the toxic industrial chemical flavors next time, Nong shim black is much tastier. Oh, and feel better. I'd suggest ramen, as it is comfort food for me, but...
Dusty Chalk
I know, right? It's like a big red flag saying, "don't eat me".
Grahame
Dusty, I think you mis-remembered the origin story of The Toxic Avenger I Think it involved Nuclear Waste, not Toxic Ramen
livewire
Ate some rotten crab salad my daughter brought home last night. After wondering what putrid filth I just shoved down my pie hole, I threw the rest of the plate in the trash. Woke up this morning without any symptoms of food poisoning. Dodged that bullet - lucky I guess. Went to the fridge to look at the fishy package and saw that the mayo they used was separating into orange oil and God knows what else. It was also three days past the expiration date. Ewwww!
crappyjones123
Trying to plan a summer trip to surprise Julie. So far I've short listed Paris, Santorini, a drive up the west coast of Ireland (admittedly this is something I've wanted to do for a long time but she expressed interest in as well), and Rome. May 8-16/17 seems to be the only time available to both our schedules. Instead of trying to rush through things and visiting multiple places in a day, I'd prefer to just stick around one city and venture out (barring of course the Ireland trip. Can anyone suggest one vs the other for that time of year? The prices are more or less the same. Neither of us drink or smoke in case that rules in or out any particular locations. PS. or any other place really. We had a great time in New Orleans but the rough cost of visiting is pretty much the same. I figured, travel within the US is easier and can be done at other times (thanksgiving break/spring break) so was trying to do something across the pond. Torpedo
May should be OK for visiting Rome, not too hot yet. From there you could go to Florence (Firenze), which is one of those places which need to be visited. If you can't do May go the second half of September, but by all means avoid the summer in Rome. Way too hot and humid, way too many people everywhere. Paris is nice too, but it's more about grandeur (and damn expensive) than anything else. Moreover most Frenchies hate americans, Parisians hate everyone else anyway, and no matter how good is your French, they'll know, more or less with the same accuracy a London snob would know you're not of royal breed. Well, just kidding, or not.. well, Paris deserves a visit too, but the car drive up Ireland's west coast sounds very romantic, and more relaxed. crappyjones123
Thanks Antonio. September is out because some of my classes have mandatory attendance. The little time in May is the only time neither one of us has class.
MexicanDragon
A friend goes to Ireland every year. I can get you on touch with her if interested. She has tons of info and is thinking about starting her trip as a group guided tour for friends... So she can probably give pointers. **BRENT**
crappyjones123
I'd appreciate that Brent. The cost of attendance at Paris is working against it at this point. I know she would prefer a road trip in Ireland to Rome so that leaves Santorini. A few friends have been there but all of them on day breaks on cruises. None have spend more than a few hours there. blessingx
Rented a house in Sonoma. This is the nearly life-sized sculpture waiting when you walk in the front door. Talk about setting expectations for the weekend. Edited January 10, 2015 by blessingx
