Suitably impressed; spousal purchase approval granted. Double win! then impressive pub lunch + playing tourist in market town of Cirencester (which dates back to roman times) Today, said goodbye to our home away from home in Cheltenham Then played tourist in Cheltenham Saw some German hatchbacks you can't get in the U.S. (brand dilution?) And then encountered a store that had head case written all over it. Then more playing tourist in the Cotswolds, including several single track roads, lots of wildlife (pheasants, partridges and the like) Quaint villages, including a pub closed on Mondays and Tuesday's (WTF), lack of cell signal, and chilly weather. I finally caught him and carried him back home (he is a small dog) not even thinking about the chance of the cat having rabies until after cleaning him up. Now I am trying to decide whether I should go to the ER to try and get shots. It's not clear that they would give them to me since I didn't have any bites or scratches (I didn't have any contact with the cat and don't think I put my hands in my mouth/eyes before washing them). I did wear my clothes that touched the dog for a while before washing them. I tried to see if I could find the owner of the cat and it seems that the only person with cats is a crazy cat lady with ~25 cats (some of which might be stray) according to the neighbors. Seems unlikely that the cat lady has all the cats vaccinated. I am guessing it is really unlikely that I have rabies so I am probably going to wait until I'm in Houston and see my doctor on Friday. I think as long as you don't have symptoms, the shots can be effective. I really don't need this. I would have gone to my doctors but I am still in California (I plan to go back tomorrow but won't be there until late at night). When you mean that you'd be as worried about rabies as Ebola, I assume that you mean that you wouldn't be too worried (since I am not worried about getting Ebola). Me - had the silly notion to watch TV tonight. Our X1/Comcast DVR kept throwing fits so I gave it the recommended reboot and now it won't connect to anything. Joy. So on a whim I called Comcast. They're so screwed they won't even take calls. It just has a short message that says something like, "We're sorry. We are currently experiencing higher call volumes than normal. Please try your call again later." Damn. I'm a glutton for punishment so I decided to see if their online chat function was working. Well, that at least let me enter a cue. Too bad there are, no shit, 1500+ people in front of me waiting to scream at someone. Or at least there were when I started typing this. Even if the cat was rabid and introduced saliva into a wound of the dog the dog would not be infectious until the virus reached the brain/salivary tissue which takes days to weeks. I don't know how quickly rabies dies and/or saliva dries out. Also, our dog may have a wound on the inside of the mouth as well as on the outside since he was having trouble eating. We were having issue requiring a couple of reboots before the remote for two receivers started to work again. Despite these issues which come up from time to time, still happy with the switch from Directv. Shelly, sorry to hear about the dog/cat issue. Glad you didn't get bit by the cat. We have a couple of cats in the neighborhood that I try to avoid as they will come to the edge of driveway and sidewalk when I walk my dog by in the area. One actually went after my dog on one walk. I wouldn't be worried for myself, in the worst case I'd be worried for the dog. As I see it dogs and cats fight anytime without rabies being involved. Part one Hopped on the bus from outside my mothers, to Chelmsford station (yay evolved public transport) Met my nephew, the barista. Got the family discount cheers Matt. Then onto London where we braved the crowds at the poppy art installation at The Tower of London. Moving and impressive. The Tower of London is by Tower Bridge And opposite H.M.S. Belfast and "The Shard" Then onwards via the tube to South Kensington and The Science Museum.
