livewire Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Ken, wishing you the best while on the mend! This is a high side. Basically the motorcycle bucks one off of it. Kind of like an ejection seat caused by a qick change of momentum. Normally caused by a rear tire losing, then regaining traction suddenly. Braking is usually involved or a too quick left-right turning transition. Quote
CD44hi Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Yikes Ken, get well soon! Best wishes Quote
tyrion Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Ken, that sucks. Get well soon! Quote
acidbasement Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Dusty said exactly what I was thinking: drugs yes, death no. Heal fast, Ken. Quote
guzziguy Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 I've gotten an update. I have a broken hip, not a broken femur. Iwill be sent home sometime today. I will give more info when I get to a key board. Quote
n_maher Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Yuck. This. Sorry for the damage, Ken. Here's to hoping for a speedy recovery. Quote
Grahame Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Dropped in on Ken. He's going home today, so dressed appropriately. Enjoy your new year and the pharmaceutical grade drugs, Ken. Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Quote
mikeymad Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Looking pretty good sir... (nice shirt)... Quote
Pars Posted December 31, 2013 Report Posted December 31, 2013 Get well soon Ken! Sorry about the accident. Quote
swt61 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hope you have someone to look in on you while you recover Ken. Quote
agile_one Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Jeezus, Ken! in the (slightly paraphrased) immortal words of Danny Glover in whichever the fuck version of Lethal Weapon it was, "you're getting too old for this shit!" Heal quickly, buddy, and be careful out there. Quote
Torpedo Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 You look better than I expected for all those broken bones. I'd look way worse, that's sure. The broken hip can be a broken femur. No surgery? Hopefully it's just a fissure and you're prescribed some rest. Best wishes, Ken. And a hug 1 Quote

guzziguy Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Thanks all. I'm home. The facts that I can only use my left arm (limited on the right to lifting, pushing, etc, 10 lbs max) and that I shamble round like a 100 year old man, means that everything here happens very slowly. At least I'm home. It turns out I don't have a broken femur, but rather a broken acetabulum. At least all my breaks are non-surgical. Gotta go feed my animals. This normally takes about 10 minutes but will probably take an hour. Quote
MexicanDragon Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Glad to see you back home and shufflin', Ken. Maybe you can devise a more efficient way of feeding the animals with your down time. **BRENT** Quote
Torpedo Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Are you forbidden to charge weight on that damaged hip? Do you use crutches? Oh well, Ken, it might have been way worse, but still it sucks. I'm glad you're home. Take care and get well Quote
skullguise Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Good that you're home and the breaks are non-surgical. As others have said, take care and heal well..... Quote
