MexicanDragon Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Didn't have yellow. Orange it is!4 weeks. Fun fun.**BRENT** 1
skullguise Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Orange is the new yellow...... What a great kid, and a lovely smile....
Torpedo Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 ^ Indeed. Four weeks is nothing, they'll fly.
agile_one Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Great cast, Zoe. Shouldn't slow her down at all, Brent. Granddaughter had a pink one for wrist, and was hit of class, and the ballet recital.Great pics.
Dreadhead Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Great pics. Better cast now than permanent pain later.
jpelg Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, great pics indeed. You will all look back in a year & laugh.
acidbasement Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Nice cast. I seem to recall hearing (from a reputable source) that fracturing bones as a child is associated with better mental health and fewer phobias as a teenager and adult. I just got my second root canal in as many weeks. Hooray for employer-paid dental coverage!
n_maher Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, great pics indeed. You will all look back in a year & laugh. This!
guzziguy Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, great pics indeed. You will all look back in a year & laugh. Also this. Nice cast. I seem to recall hearing (from a reputable source) that fracturing bones as a child is associated with better mental health and fewer phobias as a teenager and adult. I just got my second root canal in as many weeks. Hooray for employer-paid dental coverage! Wait. Isn't dental work covered under Canada's universal heath care system?
Salt Peanuts Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Yes, great pics indeed. You will all look back in a year & laugh. This again. I may have to ask for an orange cast if I ever break anything.
acidbasement Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Wait. Isn't dental work covered under Canada's universal heath care system? Nope. Dentists and optometrists can't bill the government for their services. Some legit medical things aren't covered either, like ambulance rides and certain genetic and other tests. I don't really understand why certain things aren't covered, but to say the system is universal is not completely correct.
Grahame Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Found out from the blood work / culture results that my knee, while still swollen is not infected (as far as they can tell) when I asked if would be better if it was infected (and thus providing a cause for the swelling) I was told that infected knee's are not doctor recommended. So now I'm about to subject it to 10+ hours of transatlantic flight. What could possibly go wrong? I have an MRI booked on my return, so we'll see what they say - maybe "non specific inflammation" if it's a repeat of 20 years ago (same symptoms/onset - but no root cause - resolved itself over 6 months)Weather on journey down to SFO was glorious. Brother in Law said weather in UK was cold, wet and crap. No change there thenNow "enjoying" obligatory overpriced generic airport fare.I'm Back in two weeks. Joanne may act as my chauffeur, then spend more time with her elderly mother, returning later. It's not like she has a job to rush back to now...
Dusty Chalk Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Best wishes! Here's to hoping that air travel does not cause any undue complications.
Grahame Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Thx, and extra legroom FTW. Also wimped out and requested wheelchair service at LHR.

agile_one Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Safe journey, Graham and Joanne. Hope the knee isn't too troublesome.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Also wimped out and requested wheelchair service at LHR. Better safe than sorry.
Augsburger Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 Safe journey, and if it hurts when you do something then don't do that. No worries, I will email you my bill for that advice.
CarlSeibert Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 At the strike of midnight -first birthday present..A rather large growler of OP Porter
shellylh Posted October 17, 2013 Report Posted October 17, 2013 I bum knee and transatlantic flight sounds awful, good luck Grahame.
