Voltron Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 (edited) Waiting for Iroman3 to start in an empty theater. Funny, I saw it in a theater last weekend with two other people besides us. Oh, and nice work, Acidbasement! And vultures are everywhere out near Mayberry. Even the ones with actual feathers. Edited May 16, 2013 by Voltron Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 I've seen 'em circling before, but never this close to the ground...feeding...developing kind of a defensive posture as I walked past... Quote
n_maher Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Got home last night to test the freshly cleaned carb on the tractor. One pull, fired right up, yay!arriving soon in a post near you, Nate mowing the lawn. And sweet raise! I'd be psyched to get 2% this year, which seems unlikely given the budget shenanigans that continue to go on in Washington. Right now a 5% cut is what I'm looking at. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Nice on the tractor but sucky on the paycut, Nate. Quote
Salt Peanuts Posted May 16, 2013 Report Posted May 16, 2013 Spread out ~3.5 yards of mulch after work - it appears I miscalculated how much I actually needed. Now I need to figure out where to spread the remaining ~1.5 yard of mulch. Quote
justin Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 exhausted. rented a cargo van to pick up BHSE powdercoated parts. they were easily loaded with a forklift, but since i do not have that or the proper door, i unloaded the 1500lb of it by hand. then played soccer for two hours. trying to laser engrave tonight Quote
Voltron Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Sounds like a better night to chill, Justin. Quote
mypasswordis Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Try unloading a 3500lb screw machine out of a cargo truck by hand, < 3 hours before you have to get to the airport. While it's raining. Yes we ended up missing our flight. Quote
crappyjones123 Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 (edited) What is a screw machine? Nevermind that. Wtf do you need a screw machine for? Edited May 17, 2013 by crappyjones123 Quote
mypasswordis Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Let's just call it a failed business venture and leave it at that. I have too much on my plate these days to have to think about that catastrophe, which instantaneously gets the blood boiling. Quote
swt61 Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 What is a screw machine? Nevermind that. Wtf do you need a screw machine for? Wow, you straight guys really are naive! Quote
acidbasement Posted May 17, 2013 Report Posted May 17, 2013 Helped a cockatiel chick out of its eggshell this morning. Three eggs to go. Our birds had one successful clutch in the winter, and since then they've had three duds (one of which was nasty - they attacked the chicks right after they hatched). This one looks like it's off to a good start, with father Lance already starting to feed it. Quote
Voltron Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 What is a screw machine? Nevermind that. Wtf do you need a screw machine for? Maybe it is related to the Ring Machine. *waits for TICE humor* Quote
n_maher Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 3hr marathon mowing session after work, belch. Quote
Augsburger Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Three hours, wow Nate that is a lot of mowing! Where do you put all of those grass clippings? I bet you have one heck of a compost heap brewing on your property. Quote
n_maher Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 Yes, it is a large pile. I run a triple bag power-flo bagger system and I'd wager I emptied it 10 times today. The consequence of the bagger needing repairs and not getting to mow for two weeks. And that's with the irrigation system turned off. Quote
shellylh Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 3hr marathon mowing session after work, belch. Wow! Quote
Aimless1 Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 I'm glad I just mulch ^^^this I used to bag but switched to mulching. Quote
n_maher Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 There's no way I could mulch unless I was mowing twice a week. Quote
acidbasement Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 (edited) You just have to lower your standards. I mow infrequently and mulch, my lawn wins no beauty pageants, and I'm at peace with that. Edited May 18, 2013 by acidbasement Quote
grawk Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 You just have to lower your standards. I mow infrequently and mulch, my lawn wins no beauty pageants, and I'm at peace with that. This. I'm aiming for just good enough the neighbors don't complain. Quote
n_maher Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 both of you can talk to my wife and let me know how that works out. My standards are low enough my better half's are not. Quote
acidbasement Posted May 18, 2013 Report Posted May 18, 2013 "Hello, Mrs. Maher? Hi, this is acidbasement. Yes, the one from the internet. Listen, it's come to our attention that your lawn looks too nice, and, well, it's making the rest of us look bad. Would you consider mowing less frequently and mulching please? We'd really appreciate it. Thanks, and have a great weekend!" Think it'll work? Awaiting your phone number. Quote
