Dusty Chalk
I got nothing, other than a commendation for taking the approach of, "don't change it for the sake of changing it, only change it if it's an improvement" -- I have to agree that I was looking at these against each other -- the original logo clearly wins. And I sort of agree with Chris' attitude of keeping it simple, though perhaps not that simple. You have a logo, keep it. You'd be surprised what simply changing the aspect ratio on it and the thickness of the lines would do to making it look more elegant. Voltron
As promised, I went to the last of three elimination games and watched the Gigantes destroy the St. Lousi DeadBirds. Sorry Hubby Tim, but this year it ain't happening. World Series at home starts Wednesday. GO GIANTS!
ironbut
Woo hoo! Let's go Giants! Here's a design I really dig (it's the splash screen of a daw I'm fooling around with). Maybe this simple look will give you some ideas? Edited October 23, 2012 by ironbut
Wmcmanus
Hats off to all Giants fans! Truly deserving of their World Series bid.
skullguise
Congrats Giants! A local radio station here was talking about the completeness of the team and picked them for the WS champs....this when they were still down 3-1 vs. St Louis......! shellylh
Tim the Hubby is sad but at least the loss is to the Giants. Kick some Tiger butt! (Oh, just realized that I will be in Tiger country during the WS.)
n_maher
Justin, Those logos are terrible. While your current logo is simple, it is effective. I would second the advice that others have given and punt that contest and rewrite the design brief and include some information and pictures of the BHSE. I'd also talk to Ed and see if he's interested in doing some design work for you.
cutestory
Justin: I am still in full support of your current logo. Oh, and BUR->SJC for a couple of days. The preceding two sentences are unrelated.
Torpedo
Justin, I agree with Nate, Shelly and Augsburger. I dislike them all, none makes justice to the quality and target of your products.
Voltron
I don't really like your current logo, but ALL of those contest logos are horrible as others have said.
Iron_Dreamer
As promised, I went to the last of three elimination games and watched the Gigantes destroy the St. Lousi DeadBirds. Sorry Hubby Tim, but this year it ain't happening. World Series at home starts Wednesday. GO GIANTS! Oh hell yeah! Last night's game was crazy. I'm so jealous Al, but I'm glad you and your family have been able to enjoy the games in person. I will have to make do with gloating at all the Dodger fans I run into down here. livewire
these are too busy. when people submit logos to contests, they are intimidated to send in simple designs. But simple designs work, especially when they get printed on small materials and literature. You should just take the font you used for the BHSE and simply use that without any shapes. Its association has already been established on the top tier product, and it accomplishes the cutting edge requirement without getting goofy. Simple. ^^^THIS
justin
neat washing machine i feel bad for the people putting a lot of time and effort into this, but that's how the system works. even the most successful designers on here (dont think any have entered my contest) only win less than 10% of the time) which comes out to them netting about $25 per logo Edited October 23, 2012 by justin
swt61
My personal opinion is that it will be hard to improve on your existing logo. IMO you got it right the first time out.
CarlSeibert
Don't get Bonnie started on those crowd-sourced logo sites. They're pretty much a lose-lose proposition. I like your current logo, really.
blessingx
Last night watched my boss get yelled at on Judge Judy. He let everyone know the air date. Kinda strange/surreal.
Voltron
^That is weak. Why would he do that (the show and telling people about the show)?
Grahame
Attention whore?
Voltron
That was my assumption. Undermining his "authority" or at least perception at work seems like a high price if that is all it is.
blessingx
Not sure. In the end it turned into a slight financial gain (versus normal court and likely losing), but I think Grahame might be on to something.
n_maher
I can't understand why anyone would choose that avenue to dispute resolution unless it really is for nothing else than an awkward 20 minutes of fame.
grawk
Well, I think financially everyone wins on those shows, so at least there's that.
justin
i think the show pays the judgements plus you get maybe $500 and a night in a 3-star hotel. is your boss white trash?
blessingx
Justin is pretty close above. Not sure what I'm suppose to offically know or say, but if you want more info ping me. And if you want a glimpse head over to Judy's site and select This Week/Tuesday. "Big Trouble."
justin
wow it's airing already? i figured it took 3-6 months edit: n/m, i thought you were saying you were in the audience last night Edited October 24, 2012 by justin
