Dusty Chalk Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 I use the spike cups I got with my ES-1 to make sure they don't damage my 100$ IKEA rack but this also means I never, ever move the amp. Really? 'cause: "pennies". Also: really? Just a $100 Ikea amp? Where the hell is the disdain and rejection from team overkill? Obviously it needs to be a magnetically isolated sandbox with gyroscopic correction mechanisms.
cetoole Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) At seatac, about to board a flight back to Newark. Quick surgical strike to move, my return is Sunday at 4. Edited October 5, 2012 by cetoole 1
justin Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 I'm having serious problems figuring out the color combo and feet now. First world problems are still problems! pink with purple knob
morphsci Posted October 5, 2012 Author Report Posted October 5, 2012 pink with purple knob I think Steve would like that one. 1
swt61 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 For your info I'm very manly. I even had a tractor toy as a boy... What?
909 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 I made two court appearances this morning, a marijuana DUI and the other opposing a domestic violence restraining order. The petitioner in the restraining order case is a porn star/prostitute, which makes for some interesting facts to say the least. Then I went to Beverly Hills to get my haircut at Gornik & Drucker, Bill Gornik use to cut Ronald Reagan's hair. Afterwards, I headed to Westwood to settle some pressing business at the Federal Building. Now I am return calls and potential client calls and getting ready for my wife to come home and grab something good for dinner with her.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Not that you're taking a poll, but I think it should be gunmetal with black knobs.pink with purple knobThat reminds me of a joke that Steven Tyler made while on camera with Joan Rivers some time in the 90's. Do you know what the difference between pink and purple is? The grip.
morphsci Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 For your info I'm very manly. I even had a tractor toy as a boy... What? I wasn't referring directly to the colors.
swt61 Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Oh, well Pink things with Purple knobs do happen to be favorites of mine.
luvdunhill Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Finally got around to powering up a build ive been working on forever to find out I had a bad solid state relay. It failed in a wierd way essentially being a huge current limiter. Tempting fate and ordering another used one. Also got another oscillicope in today that is my endgame-1. Need to put my previous model on Ebay. Also tested my differential probe. The new scope has an ethernet connection so I'm looking for a wireless bridge of sorts to play with. Fun geeky stuff.
blessingx Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) Are there BHSE color example photos? Need to live through others gear adventures. My day probably sounds boring to anyone without a baby around, but... Played hooky. No family responsibilities or work for most of the day. Breakfast at my favorite breakfast spot, a couple Eagle Rare Manhattans this morning, then off to a movie in an actual theater (The Master - see the drinks were a theme), distant drive to get best cheesesteak for lunch, then spun some vinyl, took a long nap, read pages and pages without interruptions, now sipping on some more Eagle Rare. A good mental health day. Edited October 6, 2012 by blessingx
Knuckledragger Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Thanks for congratulations, guys. I'm kinda pissing my pants about this gig. As far as MA (and the rest of New England) goes, RISE is the Big. Time. I've got the lounge to myself for 5 hours. I need to start woodshedding right now to put together a mix for it.
shellylh Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Sounds like a pretty god day to me... even though I don't have a baby around.
Voltron Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Good luck, Knucks. You'll rock the house or chill the lounge or whatever you're supposed to do with great style and there will be much rejoicing. Great day, Ric. Good for you.
n_maher Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Congrats Dan, I'm sure you'll rock the house. Sounds like a great day to me Ric!
spritzer Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Really? 'cause: "pennies". Also: really? Just a $100 Ikea amp? Where the hell is the disdain and rejection from team overkill? Obviously it needs to be a magnetically isolated sandbox with gyroscopic correction mechanisms. Well I don't have any pennies and our "króna's" will probably just damage the spikes. They are tough little buggers... I've never understood the point of those crazy expensive racks so I just use what ever that works. It has been strengthened quite a bit though.
Nebby Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 I think the most expensive rack I would "buy" would be a diy 80/20 rack.
guzziguy Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 You can't hear how much expensive cables improve your system without an expensive rack.
CarlSeibert Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Dusty Chalk' timestamp='1349469440' post='538814']Really? 'cause: "pennies". True confessions time. Did you paint the pennies black? ............ah, ahem, yes, I will confess. I did paint mine. They're under a power amp, too, so they're kind of bowled.
morphsci Posted October 6, 2012 Author Report Posted October 6, 2012 Eating a late lunch/early dinner at the Palm restaurant with the family prior to the Barrelhouse Flat outing later.
