skullguise Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Installed a new router, old one was dropping Wi-Fi (and ocasionally wired signal) too much.... Also talked with our financial planner, and we're in pretty good shape for Andrew's college funding! 1
swt61 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Met up with pabbi1 Al to listen to some live music. The walk was great, the weather is gorgeous! Also, noticed a "newish" cocktail bar on the way there. Stepped in and checked the place out but didn't have time for a drink. It looked pretty nice and is within walking distance of my house... what is not to like. I miss Al.
shellylh Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 You should meet up with us next time he is in town. He is down here often for work. He would love to see you and Marc again.
Grahame Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Enjoyed a not too overpriced (in Sterling) latte in LHR waiting for the gate to be announced for warmer/sunnier climes Joanne hopes to get some time by the pool when we get back this afternoon.
Grahame Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Now back at SFO where it is indeed warmer and sunnier. Larkspur is likely to be even more so. 1
Aimless1 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Just returned from a dad/daughter date. Youngest wanted to spend the day watching our mutual alma mater WMU play UConn. Had a nice drive to Kalamazoo, ate a huge lunch, found out the game was postponed by 30 minutes. Stopped at Waldos (just off campus bar) for a beer. When we arrived at the stadium it was 46 degrees and pouring rain. 52 and bright sun at half time. WMU wins 30 - 24. Nice meal at a local restaurant on the way home. Just said good bye and realize what a great time we had together. I like being a dad 2
thrice Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Went to a place in Raleigh called Pullen Park. Took my daughter on the little boat ride and carousel there. Then a picnic lunch with the family. A good day. I too, love being a dad and love the time I have with my daughter. 1
Voltron Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 (edited) Oktoberfest 2012 started out rainy and overcrowded but I managed to have several liters of beer, some pretzels and roast chicken, and fun. After a slow start, I hung out with some 20-somethings from Ohio and Michigan and France. I never made it into one of the tents, but the spent most of my time in the bier gartens at Paulaner and Hacker. Good times but lousy pics. Edited September 23, 2012 by Voltron 2
Grahame Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 ^ Does look wet, but good that you had beer, company and fun to keep you dry!
Grahame Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 (edited) Went to an ex-neighbor's wedding replay party, where they reenacted their wedding vows, officiated by their landlady, for those who weren't able to attend the real ceremony the previous weekend. Later in the evening there was an open mike ( for themselves and their 'creative' friends ) and bride and groom tossing. Scotty, another chef ex-neighbor and mutual friend grilled up some mean orange/honey Salmon cheeks and belly's. We know we are back in Marin. Edited September 24, 2012 by Grahame
Dreadhead Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Taped back together my Obama bumper sticker after some douche at work tried to rip it off my car but was not able to complete the job. I assume it is the same douche that took the last one about a month ago. To be clear he/she is a douche because of this action. I think both sides can agree that messing with someone's property is bs.
Voltron Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Douche indeed. Tape one to the inside of your rear window so they can't get at it.
Dreadhead Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 ^Good solution but unfortunately on this car the tinting is so strong to render a bumper sticker inside illegible.
aardvark baguette Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 bumper stickers are always a bit of a gamble. its asking a lot of modern society to respect property rights nowadays. i dont think they're up to it.
crappyjones123 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 flip cam. catch the asshole and report him.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 bumper stickers are always a bit of a gamble. its asking a lot of modern society to respect property rights nowadays. i dont think they're up to it. Lollers. To be clear he/she is a douche because of this action. I think both sides can agree that messing with someone's property is bs.Agreed. Unholy carp, that's really douchey. I mean, does he really expect to make a difference in a campaign? How fucking stupid..."Oh my gosh, what was I thinking, promoting Obama with a bumper sticker?!?!? I will change my ways immediately!"

I think both sides can agree that messing with someone's property is bs. Reminds me of a douche at work (in reverse) that had tea party shit plastered all over his car. Always wanted to do something, but not my property... Said douche is now in jail and probably headed to prison on child porn charges. Ex-douche I guess? Nah, still a douche, just no longer employed here
blessingx Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Speaking of douches, I just discovered Turntable.fm DJing. Welcome to 2011.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Holy shit, that stuff was addictive as hell.
justin Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 bumper stickers are always a bit of a gamble. its asking a lot of modern society to respect property rights nowadays. i dont think they're up to it. the really strange one here is local businesses that put huge Romney signs on their property. um, this city votes 90% democrat. you're going to lose more in business than you'll possibly gain even if your sign is the one that wins the election.
Grahame Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Yesterday was first day back at work after vacation. It was like I hadn't been away. I think I can safely assert: Vacation > Work My body still can't decide what time zone it thinks it's in, yet. On our return one of Joanne's Sisters posted a "Look what you're missing" picture. I fail to see what i'm missing
swt61 Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Holy shit, that stuff was addictive as hell. We were just talking about Tea Party, Child Pornography and DJing. Please be more specific!
Dusty Chalk Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 turntable.fm is virtual crack.
