Also, noticed a "newish" cocktail bar on the way there. Stepped in and checked the place out but didn't have time for a drink. Aimless1 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Share Posted September 23, 2012 Just returned from a dad/daughter date. Youngest wanted to spend the day watching our mutual alma mater WMU play UConn. Had a nice drive to Kalamazoo, ate a huge lunch, found out the game was postponed by 30 minutes. Stopped at Waldos (just off campus bar) for a beer. When we arrived at the stadium it was 46 degrees and pouring rain. 52 and bright sun at half time. WMU wins 30 - 24. Nice meal at a local restaurant on the way home. After a slow start, I hung out with some 20-somethings from Ohio and Michigan and France. I never made it into one of the tents, but the spent most of my time in the bier gartens at Paulaner and Hacker. Good times but lousy pics. Later in the evening there was an open mike ( for themselves and their 'creative' friends ) and bride and groom tossing. Scotty, another chef ex-neighbor and mutual friend grilled up some mean orange/honey Salmon cheeks and belly's. We know we are back in Marin.
