Dusty Chalk Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 No, it's fine, I'm sure. It's just that I would recommend a bass amp for a bass. But no, I wouldn't do that again -- you might blow the woofer. You can also get a MicroVR for US$300. (Unless you wanted a full combo amp/cab.)
jvlgato Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Sorry , CJ, that really sucks. But the bio part wasn't impossible, it sounds like you were Inadequately prepared for it, for some reason. I'd try to figure out what was missing from what you studied, and study it. You are clearly plenty smart, really really smart, but prone to missing important chunks of info somehow. Don't say it was impossible ... figure out what you were missing, and learn it. If you get into med school and tell your med school attending during clinical rounds that he/she is asking you impossible questions, they'll glare at you, give you five more that are harder, and tell you to give the team your report the next day. Sorry, just how it is. If you can't handle that, give up now, before you're $150,000 in debt when you decide to give up. You can do this. I have no doubt that you're smart enough. Go do it!
grawk Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I really like my behringer bass v-amp pro. It's a do everything bass/guitar amp simulator with a headphone amp, and spdif out. I generally just run it into my speaker rig, now that I don't have a bass amp. It's been generally fine for my needs. If I were to ever get the urge to play out (unlikely) I'd probably just take the DI output from it and send it to a PA.
shellylh Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Probably not going to get a bass amp (combo or head/cabinet) right now since I have a really crappy bass guitar and haven't played it in forever (not that I ever really played). I gave away my really crappy bass combo amp to a friend's kid since I wasn't using it.
The Monkey Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Little Monkey had the day off for Rosh Hashanah, so I took off to spend with him. There's a car show at the World Financial Center, so we went to that and he got to sit in the driver's seat of all the cars, which made him VERY happy. Then we had burgers, then played some baseball where he managed to work himself into a "game" with a 13 and 14 year old. I'm amazed by my continued amazement at him. A good day. 2
Dusty Chalk Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Sweet. Sounds very homey. I actually got shit done at work today, myself. I love rainy weather. I feel energized.
morphsci Posted September 19, 2012 Author Report Posted September 19, 2012 That sounded like a very good day Dinny.
swt61 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) Shelly, hang on to them for now, and bring the bad one to Austin in Nov. There'll be a few guys that can look under the hood for you. It's silly to dump them just yet. Nice Dinny! That sounds like a fantastic day out to me! Edited September 19, 2012 by swt61
Dreadhead Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Sounds like a top notch day Dinny! Good times.
raffy Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Good times Dinny, I'm glad you got to spend a splendid day with Little Monkey!
Voltron Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Monkeys at play sounds like a great day. 1
Augsburger Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Great day Dinny! Bonding with the little Monkey is good.
Absorbine_Sr Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Happy Monkeys make me happy. Nice day Dinny.
aardvark baguette Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 called in sick, listened to music all day. 2
Dusty Chalk Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Did you go outside at all? It's a gorgeous day (was on the weekend, too, apparently -- I didn't go outside, myself, until just before sunset both days). I got three invites to DFHA's 3 octoberfest dinners. I'm tempted to tell them, "I'll come if there's cleavage".
shellylh Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Met up with pabbi1 Al to listen to some live music. The walk was great, the weather is gorgeous! Also, noticed a "newish" cocktail bar on the way there. Stepped in and checked the place out but didn't have time for a drink. It looked pretty nice and is within walking distance of my house... what is not to like.

Dusty Chalk Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 It's like being outside -- it's bringing the outside in.
screaming oranges Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 Returned from a 3-day vacation at Washington DC. First time there. I want to go back. So much stuff to see! 1
Dusty Chalk Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 next time when you have more time, have your people tell my people, we'll do lunch
Dreadhead Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 next time when you have more time, have your people tell my people, we'll do lunch X2
Emooze Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 I was a beautiful day but instead I spent from 0430 to 1530 at work.
