Dusty Chalk Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 had a business meeting took out iPad... Homer: "Visitors! Better put on pants" thx Homer (From the Simpsons game "Tapped Out" where you build a Springfield) Lollers -- that either set the exact right mood or the exact wrong mood.
cetoole Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Reminds me of one of my coworkers (soon to be former), who I have seen walk into a meeting at a client's site, and take his belt off as he is walking through the door. Not isolated incident either.
The Monkey Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 ^That's awesome. A confusing and oddly threatening display of power. I will start doing that on Monday. 3
naamanf Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Reminds me of one of my coworkers (soon to be former), who I have seen walk into a meeting at a client's site, and take his belt off as he is walking through the door. Not isolated incident either. I totally get it. When I was new at my last unit I would bring a baseball bat into our meetings. Strangely enough nobody messed with me.
swt61 Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Just a note Naaman...I doubt the bat was really necessary.
grawk Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Passed my Linux+ cert, thus clearing the last beaurocratic hurdle to being able to do my job.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 Congrats!^That's awesome. A confusing and oddly threatening display of power. I will start doing that on Monday.Or maybe he just felt so comfortable like he was at home.
morphsci Posted September 15, 2012 Author Report Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) Congrat Dan! Now get to work! Me: Installed the new garbage disposal. Really easy. And Steve, you were right, it is so quiet, when I first flipped the switch I thought it was not working. Edited September 15, 2012 by morphsci
shellylh Posted September 15, 2012 Report Posted September 15, 2012 (edited) ^This! Last night I drank beer, not too much but enough to get my beer allergies on overdrive. Then I got to put up with a stuffy head and congestion all evening and woke up to a horrible congestion headache. It is almost gone now but I think I'll stick to cocktails, whiskey, and wine for a few days. Having allergies to (some) beers is really annoying if you like beer. Salt Peanuts Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Congrats, Dan! Took our daughter to Museum of Science in Boston, using much discounted tickets from the town library. She's still bit young for the place, but much fun was had especially at the museum's more hands-on exhibits. Now (technically since last night) having minor ulcer-like symptoms after dinner. Joy.
skullguise Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Congrats Dan! Just got back from dinner with some friends, nice local Italian place. Love good company without the need to drive crazy distances. Haj, hope you're doing better! Oddly, I had some odd stomach "feelings" last night.... Edited September 16, 2012 by skullguise

Sympathies to you and Haj.
Voltron Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Feeling lucky not to have beer allergies or ulcers, and hoping everyone else is feeling better. Being in Mayberry gor the first time in about two months and having cocktails are elevating my mood and feeling of well being. 2
CarlSeibert Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Vacuumed out the condensate drain of my AC and the darned thing is still dribbling on the "tympanic warning system" (an aluminum turkey pan) after each run Grrrr. On a happier note: went to Radio Active and bought a couple records, then we went across the street to Urban Brew and had very nice lattes while we read a second hand Wall Street Journal. Edit> Originally wrote "sucked out the condensate drain". Then we watched a Sasha Baron Cohen movie. Then the stupid dripping reminded me of the air conditioner..........and......the....image.....yuck city! Edited September 16, 2012 by CarlSeibert
CarlSeibert Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 Hmm. Fortune cookie tonight at the Lotus: If you promise someone something, keep it.

Shelly, try installing a hepa filter in your bedroom and buy some Benadryl OTC. If you wake up feeling like crap take the Benadryl PRN. The theory is that with a good diet and hepa filter you will lower your allergy threshhold and maybe prevent/delay the beer allergic reaction. You may feel a little ditzy after the benedryl but you wont ache, the lesser of evils I would say. Works for me anyway, though I do use a voodoo doll my sister in law sent me from New Orleans. YMMV.
shellylh Posted September 16, 2012 Report Posted September 16, 2012 We have a HEPA filter in the bedroom. I should have taken a Benadryl OTC, that was dumb.
