CarlSeibert Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Went out for a sandwich. Nasty downpour with street flooding downtown. Eight or ten inches deep. A block or so from our building one a parked Nissan Cube looked like it was taking water through the bottom of the doors on the curb side. Why is it that when there's street flooding, there is always some chowderhead in a pickup trying to make as large a wave as possible?
skullguise Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Coming in late to the latest updates, was on vacation. Sorry to hear of the difficulties, Jacob. Work this one out, with or without counseling, and you've made great steps as a couple to be ABLE to work things out in the future. Yes, the stress will get to both of you, Karen and I had our ugly outbursts leading up to the wedding, and also when we first moved in together. We're still far from perfect, but we can talk things out and know ultimately our hearts are only for each other..... As for other rambling, I liked Valerie Bertinelli best, but still liked Mackenzie Phillips too.

jvlgato Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 I bet you remember Jimmy's sister Kristy: Oh yeah, I remember her! Buddy from some TV show I used to watch. And the movie Little Darlings. Didn't know she had a brother.
Aura Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 (edited) Hope everything works out in the end Jacob. Far better versed peeps have more wisely spoken than I possibly can. I knocked my right pinky toe against a door frame this afternoon. This exact thing happened, on the same toe and in the same spot, less than two months ago. So now I have yet another blood blister right where my last one had healed after a month or so. Ached badly enough that I couldn't run today. Edited July 17, 2012 by Aura
luvdunhill Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 won a few grand off a potential future employer playing poker. not sure how to play that one, sorta risky, but hey. 3
crappyjones123 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Marc just think of Matt Damon in Rounders.
The Monkey Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Woke up with a fucking full-blown migraine. Need meds stat.
The Monkey Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Unfortunately, I can't stand triptans. The side effects make it not worth it for me. The other problem is that I tend to wake up with them, so I miss the window where it would really help. So I like the painkillers.
The Monkey Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Got an offer from my Lender on a refi for 62.5 bps less than the one we just closed a couple of months ago. Getting a 50 bps lender credit to go with it so closing costs will be under $2k. So, I can't believe it but....here we go again.
Dreadhead Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Good luck. I hope it's worth it. My payback window for re-fis has to be less than 5 years or I don't do it. My last one was absolutely free so the payback window was 0 days.
The Monkey Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Yeah, this one will pay for itself within 5 months.

shellylh Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Just had a not so fun flying experience on United where I had to wait in line for an hour - not exaggerating - to check a bag and was stuck in a window seat near the back that did not recline. Luckily my hubby gave me the window and took the middle. I forgot how much it sucks not to be elite. Can't wait to get home and have a drink.
jp11801 Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Shelly sorry to hear about the flying issues Jacob really sorry to hear about the relationship drama, hoping you guys work it out.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Yeah, I've been in that seat before. I knew I slouched before, but had no idea just how bad I was until that flight. I swear I had to skooch up about once an hour. Suxors.
mikeymad Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Sorry Shelly -- hope my United flight tomorrow does not suck...
luvdunhill Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 (edited) Waiting to get on the train to head back to Princeton... I think the poker thing worked out well in the end. I felt like I was conflicted about hands going up against the boss and didn't really care if I lost them and ended up winning all the big ones Edited July 18, 2012 by luvdunhill
CarlSeibert Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 I see in tomorrow's news that Vicki's employer has won (more or less) it's dust up with the beachside NIMBYs. I don't much care for NIMBYs, generally.
shellylh Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Sorry Shelly -- hope my United flight tomorrow does not suck... Good luck - you will need it.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Waiting to get on the train to head back to Princeton... I think the poker thing worked out well in the end. I felt like I was conflicted about hands going up against the boss and didn't really care if I lost them and ended up winning all the big ones Well sure, it helped you to win hands in poker, but the real question is whether or not he is man enough not to hold it against you in the future. Good luck with that. Also: remind me never to play poker with you. I've already made it a rule never to play poker with my (now ex-) boss -- he's kept a poker face with me IRL too many times. Not that I'd ever play poker, anyways, I just enjoy saying that.
The Monkey Posted July 18, 2012 Report Posted July 18, 2012 Hung out with my best friend in the world tonight, whom I had not seen in way too long. It was really nice. 1
