Aimless1 Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 (edited) Jacob, i am sorry to hear about what happened. at least she was just at her sister's. i'd say let this one go, make-up and move forward. and you might want to prepare yourself for some more unusual behavior before the wedding as it is to be expected. keep your cool, be the mature one, show compassion and don't look for accountability... Good advice. If 36 years marriage have taught me anything it is not to sweat the small stuff. Based on what you wrote, this is not worth a battle. Edited July 15, 2012 by Aimless1
Grahame Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Wow, sorry to hear that Jacob. On the brighter side, tell her you have a great new entry for the gift registry.
Torpedo Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Big hugs your way, Jacob. I hope the outcome is the best for you.
agile_one Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 peace and love, Jacob. this too shall pass.
grawk Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 weddings are stressful. You both need to be aware of that, and forgive each other more. And then once you're married, marriages are stressful, and you both need to be aware of that and forgive each other more 2

Voltron Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 Bummer Jacob. Also agree with the Tao of Grawk.
Absorbine_Sr Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 we're going to stay together, but i think we need to get some counseling. Wedding still on schedule?
Fitz Posted July 15, 2012 Report Posted July 15, 2012 plaster walls Yowch. Good luck with everything though.
Voltron Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 one day at a time.. Valerie Bertinelli was so hot on that show. 1
CarlSeibert Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Dan nailed it. Particularly for the woman the whole run up to the wedding tends to be an unbearable load of unreasonable expectations and anxiety - if she doesn't have her own, family, friends and society at large will contribute so no one goes without. It really should be more fun. Sometimes, there's post-stress unpleasantness afterwards to boot. If you cut each other a massive amount of slack it can be survivable. And what Al said, too.
jvlgato Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 (edited) Good luck, Jacob. What Dan said ... Edit: What Al said, also. I was totally in love with her. I'd watch that show just to look at her. Edited July 16, 2012 by jvlgato
agile_one Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 You guys are pigs. ok, she was hot, wasn't she.
swt61 Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Good luck, Jacob. What Dan said ... Edit: What Al said, also. I was totally in love with her. I'd watch that show just to look at her. It was Jimmy McNichol for me, and I'll embarrassingly admit to a short crush on Leif Garrett. Ah, the old days.
jvlgato Posted July 16, 2012 Report Posted July 16, 2012 Yeah ... Schneider didn't do much for me, don't even remember Jimmy McNichol, Leif Garrett - kinda looks like a girl, doesn't he?
swt61 Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Yeah, he was prettier than a lot of girls from that time.
Voltron Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Yeah ... Schneider didn't do much for me, don't even remember Jimmy McNichol, Leif Garrett - kinda looks like a girl, doesn't he? I bet you remember Jimmy's sister Kristy:
Voltron Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Yeah, he was prettier than a lot of girls from that time. And further to Steve's point: He is way more fem than she it (and she came out as an adult iirc)
Dusty Chalk Posted July 17, 2012 Report Posted July 17, 2012 Turned in my acceptance letter. Ran into a problem -- couldn't get my Epson scanner working on linux. Which is bad, because one of the reasons he hired me was to administrate linux boxes. Oh well, I'll figure it out. 1
