laxx Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 Very good goals. You run much better than me and I'm 28. =T
laxx Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I put in my pre-order for TFC Toys Hercules figure. TFC Toys makes third party Transformers figures and they came out with a SICK Devastator. This is version 2 because v1 had a few manufacturing defects, should ship later this month.
jvlgato Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I did 2 miles in 12 minutes 22 years ago. Given the huge break I took in between, I'm doing ok. My goal is 5 miles in 45 minutes. Way to go!

Just my 2¢, I wouldn't worry much about getting up to distances like 5 miles for a long time (like next year). Do your joints a favor and stick to shorter, slower runs until you bring your weight down. I'm pretty sure ramping up speed too quickly caused my knee injury two years ago. Maybe shoot for 3 in 30 or something like that. Your heart will probably appreciate it too.
grawk Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 I'm certainly not in a hurry to reach my goal. That's just what the goal is.
shellylh Posted April 12, 2012 Report Posted April 12, 2012 That is pretty good Dan. Flying back to Houston. The trip to the Bay Area was far too short but I have to teach tomorrow. It would have been great to see Mikey and others. Next time.
Iron_Dreamer Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Packing up to head to LA for a few weeks, to help a friend launch a new business. With any luck, it should really take off.
Voltron Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 Good luck Peter! I hope you get in on the deal for helping the launch.
luvdunhill Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 a bit of my soul was lost last night. Cracked open a sealed bag of 200 2SJ74 JFETs. I did bring a lot of joy to an otherwise horrible day.
HeadphoneAddict Posted April 13, 2012 Report Posted April 13, 2012 (edited) Picked up a commercial grade Precor C954 treadmill at a friend's garage sale for $100 + $25 to get it to my house. Still have to figure out how to get the 365lb behemoth down to the basement, and then install a dedicated 20A outlet. Edited April 13, 2012 by HeadphoneAddict
boomana Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 ditto, Peter ... happy launch. double ditto. a bit of my soul was lost last night. Larry, getting it to the basement will cost $1000.
Wmcmanus Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Will it sound better with a dedicated 20A outlet? I don't get it. These things tend to be rather lean on power consumption.
tyrion Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Bike ride cancelled due to illness and rain so i decided to run First run without intervals in more than 3 years. Funny thing is I think I could have done the same pace if I did 5/1 interval.
n_maher Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Nice run, Mike. Currently headed to a funeral but will hopefully get a ride in tomorrow.
jvlgato Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 In beautiful Rockford, Illinois for a gymnastics meet. Woot.
agile_one Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Nice, Mike ... and it was all uphill, right? Seriously, that is a good pace and distance for being out of the game that long. Well done.
shellylh Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 In beautiful Rockford, Illinois for a gymnastics meet. Woot. That is pretty impressive at your age.
morphsci Posted April 14, 2012 Author Report Posted April 14, 2012 In beautiful Rockford, Illinois for a gymnastics meet. Woot. In beautiful Effingham IL for a tumbling meet (not personally competing).
tyrion Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 In beautiful Davie, FL getting ready to smoke some St. Louis style ribs.
Salt Peanuts Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Not did since I'm in the midst of it, but packing for a vacation to visit one of my wife's best friends and their daughter. I hate packing.
Dreadhead Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Started a 4 hour ride but then popped a spoke after 30min and had to get my wife to pick me up. FML.
grawk Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Drove to gaithersburg to sell a synthesizer to a guy on Craigslist. 20 minutes after he's supposed to be there, he responds to a text saying he can't make it (after ignoring calls to the same number). I love Craigslist.
mikeymad Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 ^^ bummer... I have always had people come to me to pick things up.
skullguise Posted April 14, 2012 Report Posted April 14, 2012 Son's soccer game, they lost 1-0 but they held their own and it should have been worse. Then took son and his friend/teammate for homemade frappes from a dairy farm. Then home, errands, and watched the Bruins fail. Buffalo (Bison meat, not hot style) sausages for dinner made it a bit more bearable.
